Chapter 58: Consolidation
Added 2024-04-30 06:44:33 +0000 UTCXavier then discussed training matters with Celine. Now that his combat power had significantly surpassed hers, his perspective was broader, and his insights were naturally different.
The Earth's training methods emphasize the simultaneous advancement of body and mind, incorporating some Daoist life philosophies, all of which need to be understood through practical experience.
As the saying goes, "A single leaf obstructs the view of Mount Tai, and ears plugged with beans do not hear thunder." Different times have their limitations, especially for the weaker individuals, who find it difficult to comprehend the mindset of the stronger ones. Guidance from a stronger person can save one from many detours.
As dusk approached, Xavier called Shakda and the others together.
These young Saiyans, after a period of training and both intentional and unintentional guidance from Celine, had become significantly stronger, especially Shakda, whose power was nearing that of an adult Raditz.
Seeing their captain, who had been absent for a month, Shakda, Atasya, and the others showed curiosity, but they didn't inquire about Xavier's whereabouts over the past month. They assumed that their captain must have been secretly assessing them.
"I am very satisfied with everyone's performance over the past month. Oh, even Belit and Rida have reached a power level of one thousand…" Xavier joked as he looked around.
Belit's face fell immediately, complaining, "Really, Captain? Even you're making fun of us?"
"Exactly!" Rida chimed in, siding with Belit.
Xavier smiled lightly and looked at them seriously, "I'm not making fun of you. You should know, your current power levels are something many low-level warriors can't achieve even as adults. You're still so young; your potential achievements are boundless!"
"Does that mean we have a real chance of matching high-level warriors in the future?"
Encouraged by their captain's praise, Rida and Belit stroked their chins, looking as if it was indeed expected. Although they were the weakest in Xavier's team, they were not bad compared to other mid-level warriors.
After a few more words of encouragement, Xavier turned to Shakda, "The mission on Planet Kulzu is almost complete. I don't plan on taking on any missions for a while. After you return to Planet Vegeta, you should also take some time to consolidate. Constantly seeking battle can sometimes backfire."
"Why? Fighting is how Saiyans grow stronger, and it's fun!" Belit protested, his face falling, while Atasya and Jelin also looked visibly disheartened.
Life without a fight was just too dull!
Xavier, seeing this, couldn't help but smile. Saiyans were indeed a combative race, even the women.
He then explained, "Celine must have taught you how to train your energy. I want you to master control over your energy within a year. I don't expect you to control it to the finest detail, but at least use it freely."
"But are all those things really useful? Aren't they a bit too focused on the details?" Atasya asked, skeptical about aspects such as breathing and rhythm during combat.
Wasn't fighting supposed to be about unleashing oneself freely? Having to control one's breathing while fighting seemed too torturous.
Xavier shook his head, "A solid foundation will allow you to break through better later!"
"But..."
As Atasya started to protest again, she caught Xavier's stern glance and immediately held back her words.
Although Xavier was several years younger than her, Atasya, and indeed even Belit, Rida, and Jelin, felt a faint fear towards him. She couldn't understand why she was afraid of him; perhaps it was because his combat power far exceeded hers.
Only Shakda nodded seriously after hearing this. In his view, the strength of Xavier and Celine wasn't merely due to physical factors. Otherwise, with their "talents," they would have already reached the level of high-level warriors, but they were not.
Ki was a profound and complex discipline that required systematic learning. Celine had only taught them a small part of how to control it; the deeper aspects were beyond their current capacity to learn.
Shakda was grateful that they were taught such advanced training methods. With these new techniques, he saw a bright future, one where surpassing high-level warriors wasn't just a pipe dream.
"We promise to meet the captain's goals!" Atasya declared seriously, standing up straight.
"Right, who says mid-level warriors can't surpass high-level ones? We'll show them," Belit and Rida added, not to be outdone, while even the usually quiet Jelin made her stance clear. Their ambitions burned fiercely, as if a fire was blazing within their chests, eager to achieve greatness.
Xavier and Celine exchanged looks and nodded. By the time their achievements caught the attention of other Saiyans, it might not be long before the destruction of Planet Vegeta, and then Xavier wouldn't need to hold back anymore.
……
After a quiet night, dawn broke over the humid rainforest, a thin mist wafting through the air, dampening their hair as the breeze kissed their faces.
Following a final sweep of Planet Kulzu, Xavier and his comrades boarded their craft and departed.
For a considerable stretch thereafter, Xavier's squad took no further missions, focusing instead on individual training to consolidate their existing powers.
Two months later, their spacecraft entered the airspace of Planet Vegeta.
Exiting the spaceport and bidding farewell to his teammates, Xavier and Celine returned to their home in the bustling district.
Coincidentally, it was lunchtime. Under Adriel’s intense gaze, Xavier skillfully extracted a plethora of Earthly delicacies from his dimensional space. Observing the dwindling supplies, he pondered a shopping trip to Earth for more provisions.
After their hearty meal, Xavier lounged on the living room sofa, exchanging pleasantries with Adriel and Rebecca, sharing tales of the past months. Celine, comfortable by his side, was engrossed in a magazine. Learning that Xavier's power level had soared to 18,000, Adriel and Rebecca looked on with surprise and approval.
Xavier then broached the topic of evacuating their planet—a critical issue tied to the survival of the Saiyan race.
Shaking his head, Adriel said, “We’ve exhausted all connections searching for a planet suitable for Saiyan habitation, but… the results are less than ideal. Most are unfit for our needs.”
Though the Northern Galaxy teemed with planets viable for life—too numerous to count—finding one suitable for the warrior-like Saiyans proved challenging. For Saiyans, combat was essential, sometimes even surpassing the importance of life itself, necessitating a wide expanse of combat-friendly planets.
Moreover, the planet must evade the notice of Frieza’s forces and the Cold family, a daunting task.
Given their limited connections, finding such a planet seemed almost impossible.
Perhaps only beyond the Northern Galaxy would they find a suitable home, Xavier mused silently.
Then, an idea struck him. “Actually, I command a group of tech-savvy individuals from Planet Phydia. With their expertise, we might just pinpoint a planet suited for Saiyan habitation. I’ll have them keep an eye out.”
“That would be most welcome…” Adriel sighed in relief. Having a technically advanced civilization at Xavier's disposal made the search considerably easier. “Over the past six months, we've covertly contacted a group of Saiyans. So far, over a thousand have joined us.”
