A blast of energy whizzed past, striking hundreds of Planet Phydia people. Sithaxi's weapon mowed them down, snuffing out lives in an instant.
"We really don't know where the ancient warrior is!" The leader, witnessing his kin reduced to nothing but ashes, was filled with sorrow and grief.
But the alien, Sithaxi, refused to believe his plea.
Bracing his arm, equipped with the energy blaster, Sithaxi's golden reptilian eyes flashed with rage. "You foolish little dwarfs dare to deceive Lord Sithaxi with lies! Hmph, you claim ignorance of the ancient warrior, then as you wish, all of you will die!"
As he spoke, he aimed the blaster at the remaining Phydia people, the muzzle glowing with a dark red aura.
"No!"
The leader, in a panic, shouted, trying to interject, but it was too late. A massive orb of destructive energy burst forth from the weapon, heading straight for them.
"It's over!"
The Phydia people closed their eyes in despair, adults clutching their children close, covering their eyes with their hands.
A loud explosion shook the ground for several seconds, but the anticipated agony did not come. The Phydia people, startled, opened their eyes and saw a handsome young man with black hair standing like a steadfast mountain before them.
With a single punch, the young man had deflected the mighty energy attack, but no one had seen how he appeared.
"Who, who are you?"
The sudden appearance startled Sithaxi, especially since his energy wave had been deflected with a mere punch. Sithaxi hurriedly raised his energy blaster, aiming it at the newcomer while instinctively stepping back.
"Relying on external weapons at a critical moment?" Xavier's lips curled into a cold smirk, his eyes flashing disdainfully as he turned to look at the shaken Phydia people.
These Phydia were short, not even reaching one meter in height, with blue skin. Their ears were mere stubs, only visible as a ring of soft tissue, and on either side of their heads were rows of sharp, black little horns, protruding just a few centimeters.
As Xavier's gaze met theirs, the startled Phydia's faces turned pale with fright, too scared to meet his eyes.
"Heh, surprisingly timid!" Xavier chuckled lightly, observing the hypersensitivity of the Planet Phydia people after their devastating ordeal.
"Get lost!" Sithaxi, the lizard-like alien, cursed angrily, barely concealing his true feelings as he sensed danger.
Wisely, he quietly used an energy detector to measure Xavier's power level. To his surprise, the detector showed a reading of only 540!
Sithaxi's eyes lit up, a surge of superiority flooding through him, bolstering his confidence immensely.
"Muahaha, and here I thought you were a formidable opponent. Turns out you're just a little brat. Bad luck for you to be caught by Lord Sithaxi today!" Sithaxi boasted haughtily.
He strutted forward, approaching Xavier, and as he neared, he looked down on him with his golden reptilian eyes, disdainfully pressing the energy blaster against Xavier's head. "Just one shot from Lord Sithaxi, and you're dead."
"Then by all means, try it!" Xavier's eyes gleamed briefly, a faint smile playing on his lips as he instantly vanished from the spot. A cold, emotionless voice then emanated from behind Sithaxi, chilling to the bone, devoid of any warmth, like a death sentence filled with murderous intent.
"What's going on?" Sithaxi gasped in shock, spinning around only to find that the figure previously before him had vanished without trace, reappearing behind him.
This isn't good, Sithaxi thought, a chill running through him as his scales bristled. He swung the muzzle of his energy blaster toward Xavier's new position.
Bang! A dark red energy orb blasted from the muzzle, hitting Xavier with a thud, as if striking a thick wall, and instantly burst into a cloud of red smoke.
Seeing his attack hit, Sithaxi's tone grew arrogant again: "Hmph, ignorant fool, this is what happens when you mess with Lord Sithaxi."
However, his expression froze again when the smoke cleared, revealing a small figure walking out from the mist, completely unscathed.
Xavier chuckled, dusting off his battle suit nonchalantly, "Heh, seems like your energy blaster isn't all that powerful. Look, it didn't even manage to scratch my suit!"
Sithaxi, staring at the slightly charred spot on Xavier's suit, shouted incredulously, "How is this possible? The power of my energy blaster is equivalent to 2,000 battle points! How could it not affect you at all?"
"It's quite simple, because my power far exceeds yours!" No sooner had Xavier's words fallen than he moved like a gust of wind, suddenly appearing right in front of Sithaxi, lightly tapping him on the chest.
Boom!
A tremendous force erupted, and before Sithaxi could react, he was hurled back like a cannonball, smashing into a wall some distance away and creating a large hole. Debris scattered everywhere, burying him beneath the rubble.
"Ah!" A wretched scream escaped Sithaxi as he struggled out from the wreckage, wounds blossoming across his body. He looked up in terror only to meet Xavier's dark, indifferent eyes staring down at him like one might look at an insignificant insect.
A chill shot through Sithaxi from head to toe, his throat suddenly dry. He opened his mouth to speak but found himself at a loss for words.
I'm going to be killed! Sithaxi's mind screamed, his body frozen with fear.
"You... you can't kill me. I'm a subordinate of Lord Zarbon. If you kill me, Lord Zarbon won't let you off," Sithaxi yelled desperately, trying to leverage his connection to Zarbon in hopes of sparing his own life.
"Zarbon?" Xavier paused for a moment, considering the mention of Zarbon. Could the strong evil presence he sensed be Zarbon?
Recalling the descriptions from the original Dragon Ball series and comparing them with the aura he sensed, Xavier concluded that the one targeting Planet Phydia must undoubtedly be Zarbon. But what was Zarbon doing here instead of being with Dodoria by Frieza's side? Was he here under Frieza's orders?
"Exactly, my lord, I was sent here under Lord Zarbon's orders to capture these Phydia people!" Sithaxi watched Xavier's expression closely, relieved to find recognition in his eyes, and quickly spilled all the details.
After listening, Xavier queried, "Why would Zarbon attack Planet Phydia? Was it under Frieza's command?"
Hearing Xavier directly name Frieza, the alien broke out in a cold sweat, trembling as he confirmed, "Yes... yes, Lord Frieza commanded us to search for traces of the legendary ancient warrior on Planet Phydia..."
"The legendary ancient warrior?" Xavier nodded thoughtfully, pondering alone. This ancient warrior—could it be something akin to the legendary Super Saiyan?
He knew that the Dragon Ball universe revealed in the original story was just the tip of the iceberg related to the main characters, yet the universe was vast and full of secrets yet uncovered.
"This lord..." Sithaxi called out tentatively, afraid to speak too loudly and upset Xavier further.
"Oh, I'd almost forgotten about you!" Xavier snapped back to the present with a cheerful smile. "Right, it's time to send you on your way!"
