Chapter 45: Training on the Barren Planet

Furthermore, these individuals needed to stay off King Vegeta's radar.
This effectively eliminated most of the elite warriors and Saiyans of exceptional potential. Out of a million Saiyans, elite warriors constituted less than one percent, each a precious asset.
Many of these highly potential Saiyans were already on the lists of King Vegeta and Frieza, receiving special attention. To minimize impact, these individuals could not be evacuated.
However, Adriel and his group couldn't afford not to take any of them; doing so would severely drain the Saiyans' potential. They needed to be even more selective with elite and mid-level warriors, perhaps resorting to staging their deaths to extract a few.
The gender ratio of the Saiyans also posed a concern, relevant to the race's reproduction. Although Xavier personally paid it little heed, Adriel and the others placed great importance on this and could not overlook it.
In the end, managing to evacuate two to three thousand individuals would be quite an achievement! With a total population of less than a million Saiyans, the disappearance of a few thousand would certainly attract King Vegeta’s attention, necessitating extra caution in their actions.
“For now, let’s proceed like this. Everyone subtly reach out to those Saiyans who can be evacuated, and be careful not to leak any information. We don’t know when King Vegeta will initiate a rebellion, and we don’t have much time left!” Adriel said with a sigh.
“There's always hope, which is better than none at all!”
Belruk’s expression was grim, as if he was bearing the weight of numerous debts. Inside, he felt like a keg of gunpowder ready to explode at any moment.
The proud Saiyan race reduced to fleeing was an utter disgrace to him.
All this was due to Frieza’s doing!
“Frieza, we will make you pay, sooner or later.”
...
Ten days later, on the barren planet.
The cold, piercing wind whipped up vast clouds of sand and dust, obscuring the sky with a thick, yellow haze.
Suddenly, a loud rumble echoed through the air.
The ground trembled as a huge, orange-red mushroom cloud rose in the distance. The cloud, vast and fiery, resembled a bright sun suddenly rising, illuminating tens of kilometers around it in an instant.
The shockwave’s energy swept through the area, hitting the towering mountains first. The iron-hard layers of soil, faced with the intensely penetrating shockwave, crumbled immediately, sending large boulders tumbling down, each weighing tons.
In the dim visibility, two blurred figures were seen rapidly flying. A larger and a smaller silhouette constantly shifted positions, attacking each other, vanishing and reappearing, battling from the sky to the ground and back again.
With every clash, they unleashed waves of energy powerful enough to shatter worlds.
The air shimmered with bursts of soft blue light as energy blasts tore through, tracing brilliant arcs across the sky.
"Ha ha ha! What a thrill! It’s been too long since I've had such a liberating fight," the elder exclaimed, his battle suit torn and his skin marked with crimson wounds. Despite his injuries, there was no trace of pain on his face, only exhilaration from the exhilarating combat.
The younger figure, Xavier, appeared in better condition but still somewhat disheveled.
"Uncle Adriel, you really still have it, huh? Hehe, battling truly is the best way to train!" Xavier's complexion was flushed, his blood coursing rapidly through his veins.
"Ha ha ha, naturally, I'm still young, Adriel! But honestly, if you hadn’t lowered your power level, I probably wouldn’t have lasted more than a few moves," Adriel replied with a hearty laugh, wincing slightly as his movements tugged at his wounds, though he seemed unfazed.
"Here!" Xavier tossed a Senzu Bean to him.
Catching the bean effortlessly and popping it into his mouth, Adriel chewed and swallowed. Instantly, a surge of energy coursed through his body, healing his wounds and restoring his vigor to its peak condition.
"This little bean is truly miraculous, almost too precious to use," Adriel said with a slight grimace, regretting using such a valuable item on minor injuries.
Xavier laughed heartily and responded, "Isn’t that exactly what Senzu Beans are for, to be used during training? So, Uncle Adriel, how much has your power increased?"
Clasping his fist, feeling the robust power within, Adriel grinned broadly and replied, "It’s almost at 8800 now. Hehe, to think I’ve increased by more than two hundred power levels in just ten days—that would have been unthinkable before."
Xavier smiled, acknowledging the fact. Previously, Saiyan training methods were primitive and less effective. Now, with the training techniques Xavier had introduced, Adriel's latent potential had burst forth, allowing for such rapid improvement. However, Xavier knew this burst was temporary; once Adriel exhausted this reservoir of potential, his progress would slow down again.
"It's a pity that the theory of 'Ki' you mentioned is too profound for me to grasp," Adriel lamented, scratching his head in frustration. His conventional way of thinking was deeply ingrained and hard to change quickly.
"Ki is something that really needs to be taught from a young age; otherwise, it’s hard to comprehend."
"Right!" Slapping off the fine sand from his battle suit, Xavier pulled out a large bag of Senzu Beans from his dimensional space, containing even more beans than he had given to Adriel before.
"Keep these Senzu Beans safe and distribute some to Uncle Belruk and the others when you have time."
Taking the bag and peeking inside, Adriel saw it held over a hundred beans and expressed his surprise, "So many Senzu Beans? I’m beginning to wonder just how many you have stashed away..."
"Hehe, not too many, not too many. But Uncle Adriel, please don’t tell Celine about this; otherwise, she’ll definitely pester me for some. She has quite the greed for Senzu Beans." Xavier chuckled, imagining Celine’s insistent demands if she knew how many beans he had.
"I’ll leave that to you to explain," Adriel said with a smile as he stowed away the beans. He didn’t mind the playful bickering between the younger Saiyans and even seemed pleased by their close relationship.
"Uncle Adriel, which civilizations in the universe are known for advanced technology, especially those capable of constructing large training chambers?"
"Hmm, that’s quite a high requirement!" Adriel pondered for a moment. "In the Northern Galaxy, the highest level of technology belongs to the Galactic Patrol. However, they've always looked down on us Saiyans, and we rarely interact with them. Other technologically advanced planets are either under Frieza’s control or belong to other hostile forces, which makes it difficult to find a suitable one."
Xavier furrowed his brow upon hearing this. The Galactic Patrol might have advanced technology, but they prided themselves on maintaining peace in the galaxy, which didn’t sit well with the disruptive Saiyans of the Northern Galaxy.
Other powers also recognized the importance of technological civilizations and had quickly conquered them. Now, most of these technologically advanced planets were under the control of Frieza’s forces or opposing factions, indeed making it a challenging task to find what they needed.
