Chapter 37: Slaughter
Added 2024-04-25 13:48:33 +0000 UTCThe small tribe consisted of just a few dozen natives, yet it was the most powerful in the vicinity. They occupied the most advantageous geographical position on the desolate highlands, close to a water source. Historically, they were victorious in all encounters; any who dared enter their territory were brutally slaughtered. Over time, few tribes dared challenge them.
When Xavier appeared, the natives were engaged in a primitive cooking method, roasting a leg from a corpse of a neighboring tribe, the meat sizzling enticingly as they divided it among themselves.
The cause of death of the corpse was evident from the fierce, gaping wound on the skull—it had suffered a heavy blow.
Xavier's arrival instilled a primal sense of crisis in the natives. He wore a dark brown soft armor that shimmered faintly, a sight never seen on Planet Dadoria. The natives, unfamiliar with battle armor, were stunned by the opulent appearance of his attire.
"Cooking and consuming your own kind, truly barbaric to a degree worse than beasts; even earth dogs do not eat their own, yet you are even lower than them!"
A chill flashed in Xavier’s eyes as he mused on how earth dogs, true companions to humans, were far more noble compared to these barbaric natives.
Though the natives did not understand Xavier's words, they sensed his contempt and growled lowly in an attempt to intimidate him.
But Xavier was not one to be frightened by unknown growls from primitives. As the deep growls failed to deter him, the natives grew furious, dropping what they were doing. Soon, dozens of massive figures leapt into the air, encircling Xavier.
Each native stood over three meters tall, their enormous bodies imposing in front of Xavier, giving the illusion of a large bully menacing a smaller one.
The natives growled deeply, their voices loud and violent. As they roared, tumultuous and chaotic energy burst forth, the hot, dense air becoming turbulent.
It was as if a small boat sailed in the ocean, which was calm and glittering one moment, but suddenly turned into a stormy, raging sea the next. The drifting boat seemed at risk of being swallowed by the waves at any moment, plunging into the depths of the sea in a scene filled with terror and danger.
Unfortunately, despite the terrifying forces at play, Xavier stood unyielding at the vortex's center.
"Your ki is too scattered, not effectively utilized. It appears nearly 1000 in power level, yet in actual combat, you probably couldn't even muster 900," he noted, his gaze casually sweeping across the rapidly changing energy fields around him, his expression indifferent.
With his keen vision, he could easily spot the flaws in these primitive natives.
Thus, he lightly lifted his palm, stirring the air.
A tremendous and majestic aura immediately surged from Xavier, radiating outward like thunder in all directions. Instantly, the ground shook, and fierce winds whipped up. Even using just 1000 in power level, his adept manipulation was enough to trigger various meteorological phenomena.
Roar—
Confronted with the sudden explosive force emanating from Xavier, the dozens of primitive natives' pupils constricted, instinctively stepping back.
However, they quickly recovered from their shock, beating their chests in a long howl, their interlocking fangs making a harsh "squeaking" noise.
The natives exchanged fearful glances, then suddenly huddled together, forming a very peculiar shape, and roared angrily. At this moment, something miraculous happened. Centered on the grouped natives, the sound waves turned into visible ripples, shaking the air in concentric circles.
Simultaneously, dry tree trunks and rubble, as if twisted by immense force, began to lift off the ground, creating a rustling sound. Soon after, with a snap, bushes were uprooted, swirling in the air with the debris.
Wave after wave of energy surged, a fierce storm of power with the potential to devour anything in the world spread continuously outward!
Xavier watched the primitives' actions with surprise, then shook his head, "Pity, the method of exertion is still purely reliant on brute force, lacking any technique!"
These primitive natives had not learned how to use the energy within their bodies. In combat, they tended to attack in the most barbaric ways, which was the least effective and most exhausting method. Compared to the beasts of planet Selma, which fought on instinct and whose formidable power made them even more terrifying, these primitives were significantly inferior.
No matter how strong, it's futile if you can't strike your enemy.
"It seems this mission isn't as challenging as I imagined!"
Xavier mused silently, his expression becoming relaxed.
He had initially thought that completing the eradication mission on Dadoria without revealing his true power level would take some time, and he was prepared for a lengthy endeavor. However, in actual combat, he realized these primitive natives were truly... foolish, possessing great strength yet not knowing how to use it.
With such natural physical gifts, if they were given thousands of years to develop their own martial arts, perhaps even ascending to a higher-level planet wouldn't be out of the question!
Now, their doom was inevitable.
Whoosh—
His gaze, sharp as an eagle’s, was fixed on the indigenous primitives, a flicker of keen light in his dark eyes. Xavier’s deep eyes were unrippled, like the unseen black holes of the cosmos, quietly devouring everything.
"Heh!"
With a low growl, Xavier’s aura surged and surged again, ultimately locking his power level at 1000. Such immense strength was more than sufficient to handle these natives.
His gaze icy, he suddenly moved with explosive speed, unleashing a devastating assault. Instinctively, the natives sensed an approaching threat; a shiver of death rattled their nerves as they scattered in panic.
“None of you shall escape…”
Xavier’s eyes hardened, his youthful, handsome face breaking into a cruel smile. In that moment, the Saiyan’s bloodthirsty nature was unmistakably revealed.
Countless afterimages appeared in the air, yet his true form had already swiftly tracked the natives’ escape routes. With a flurry of lightning-fast slaps, clap, clap, clap, his punches turned, hands lashing out. Nearly every strike incapacitated a native.
“Roar, roar, roar…” The overwhelming disparity in strength tormented the natives’ psyche, enduring one brutal impact after another, like cannonballs at high velocity, smashed with great force and teetering on the brink of explosion.
“It’s over!”
Xavier murmured softly, finding little value in this battle—it was merely a one-sided slaughter.
He raised his hand above his head, fingers spread wide, and with a slight effort, a sphere of radiant, crystalline energy formed. A beautiful, crimson halo enveloped the energy sphere, like a miniature sun, radiating scorching brilliance.
That was the beacon of death!
Whoosh—
The energy descended!
With a thunderous boom like a clap of thunder, the sky was suddenly cloaked in a formidable energy, casting an ominous gloom. A tremendous oppressive force spread wide, the air twisted like a "lens" covering the sun in the sky.
Wisps of blue smoke rose, the ground littered with debris.
As the smoke gradually cleared, the last "oasis" on the highland had vanished, leaving behind a massive circular crater, a kilometer in diameter and unfathomably deep.
Looking upon the life he had personally annihilated, Xavier felt no stirrings within his heart, as if the beings he had killed were mere ants, insignificant and weightless. He was not a man to pity the world; he was merely fulfilling a mission. To the strong, the weak were as nothing, mere mortals beneath the notice of a deity.
To have no higher "god" above oneself, one must strive to become the "god."
"Whew, one target down…"
Leaving the nearly desertified plateau, Xavier moved towards his next objective. There were many formidable lives on Planet Dadoria, and it wasn’t long before another native life form came into his view.
It was a gigantic giant with only one eye, standing over seventy meters tall like a high wall blocking his path, its muscles knotted and bursting with explosive power.
This giant reminded Xavier of the cyclops he had once slain on Planet Selma alongside Celine. Both possessed towering, muscular builds, but the giant before him stood even more erect and imposing.
"1020 in combat strength, likely the most powerful life form on this planet," Xavier speculated confidently, hovering hundreds of meters in the air.
Times had changed; a mere thousand in combat strength no longer merited his concern. Even were he to stand still and allow the attack, it was doubtful that such a strike could penetrate his defenses.
