Chapter 30: Tuffles
Added 2024-04-25 06:45:54 +0000 UTCPlanet Vegeta, located in the southern sector of the Northern Galaxy, originally named Planet Plant and later renamed to Tuffle Planet, was seized and renamed by the Saiyans. It is a dark red, giant rocky planet.
Planet Vegeta is divided into several regions, with the most prosperous being the area where the royal city is located.
The Saiyans are a minority race, with the combined population of native and mission-deployed Saiyans totaling less than one million.
The city district where Xavier and his group reside is a renowned bustling area, heavily populated by Saiyans.
Over the next few days, under Adriel's guidance, Xavier and Celine explored various parts of the city district. Xavier remembered these kinds of days from his childhood, something he hadn't experienced in many years.
…
Blue seas and clear skies.
The sound of the sea waves crashing could be heard.
The bright sunlight piercing through the dark red atmosphere felt scorching, as if under a fierce sun. Xavier's feet sank into the speckled shell sand, making a soft, crunchy sound. The rough yet delicate texture offered a moment of comfort for the weary.
This secluded beach in the southern part of the city, due to its remote location, did not attract many visitors, preserving its natural beauty.
That day, Xavier took the opportunity to visit the nearby mission management office to submit the report of the mission completed on Planet Selma.
The office was a three-story, hemispherical building supported by twelve white stone pillars, resembling strong warriors holding up the structure. Between every two pillars, there was a lustrous colored glass door. Twelve doors in total encircled the building, and through the clean white glass in the center, one could see the bustling scene inside.
Given the low population of Saiyans and multiple mission management offices, there was only a short line when Xavier arrived. It didn't take long before it was their turn.
“Knock, knock, knock!” The sound of knocking on wood.
“No need to knock, I can hear you!”
A clerk from the universe, clearly impatient, poked out his head, his green eyes gleaming like two jewels, emitting a dazzling and deep halo.
He was a long-mouthed creature, resembling a pterosaur, with green irises and devoid of any whites in his eyes. His upper limbs sported six slender arms, highly flexible as if boneless. Without turning his head, he fluidly operated the advanced technology behind him, his movements a blur to the onlooker but without a hint of disarray.
These clerks, hailing from the Tuffles species, were dispatched from Frieza's headquarters and were adept at operating various high-tech devices, belonging to an advanced technological civilization.
However, due to their unpleasant demeanor and harsh language, they were not well-liked by the Saiyans on Planet Vegeta.
"Hey, I need to submit a mission!"
"Name, mission number?"
The Tuffles with the elongated mouth asked in a buzzing, formal tone, his voice grating and unpleasant, like a strangled rooster's crow.
The Tuffles's attitude was not welcoming, his tone stiff as if looking down on others.
Xavier frowned slightly but truthfully responded, "Executors, Xavier and Celine, mission code XL85661, the extermination on Planet Selma!"
Upon hearing Xavier's response, the Tuffles's six arms rapidly tapped on the device, swiftly pulling up their mission details from the database.
Seeing the mission details on the screen, the Tuffles let out an ugly cackle, "Kekeke, an ultra-limited extermination mission, huh? I didn't expect you to be so capable, tsk tsk, to actually survive and return! Alright, Saiyan brats, your mission is now registered. Someone will verify it shortly."
"Oh, and remember to come back in five days to pick up your new mission log, or it'll be your own bad luck if you miss it!" The Tuffles said haughtily, waving his tendrils in a superior manner, always leaving a distasteful impression.
"How can you speak like that!"
Celine's temper flared at the Tuffles's attitude, her face dropping cold as ice as she sternly questioned him, her eyes shimmering with a chilling frost, and a fierce intent to kill spread around her.
The temperature in the hall dropped significantly.
"Celine, stop this nonsense!"
A warm hand covered her head, calming her murderous intent. "Why?" Celine looked up in surprise at Xavier, who simply shook his head, leading her to reluctantly contain her anger.
"Ugh, damn Saiyan monkeys." The Tuffles muttered venomously under his breath, not daring to voice his curse aloud.
Compared to other universe beings captured by the Saiyans, these clerks from the Tuffles species naturally appeared much more confident.
They were backed by the mighty Lord Frieza himself, stationed on Planet Vegeta for routine administration. In their eyes, they were the direct subordinates of Lord Frieza, not these self-important Saiyans.
In the hearts of the Tuffles, these Saiyans were nothing but unenlightened barbaric monkeys, mere muscle at best. In Lord Frieza's estimation, the Saiyans' status couldn't possibly compare to that of his elite operatives.
However, faced with the Saiyans' wrath, the Tuffles had no choice but to capitulate. His own strength was insignificant against an enraged Saiyan; even death would be in vain, as Lord Frieza wouldn't punish the Saiyans for one alien's demise.
"Let's go, we'll return in five days!" Xavier declared as they left the mission management office.
"Hmph!"
Celine snorted coldly, shooting one last fierce glare at the Tuffles before following Xavier out.
Once their imposing aura had dissipated, the Tuffles heaved a sigh of relief, his back soaked with sweat. He cursed silently, "Damn Saiyan monkeys, one day Lord Frieza will show you all. Hmph, I'll remember this, and we will reclaim our dues with interest."
"Heh, just you wait!"
Recalling Lord Frieza's terrifyingly formidable power, a trace of pleasure crossed the Tuffles's mind. He almost saw the barbaric Saiyans' impending gruesome end under Lord Frieza's fearsome might.
After leaving the office, Xavier needn't worry about the aftermath. Despite their disdain for the Saiyans, these arrogant Tuffless wouldn’t dare openly defy Lord Frieza's directives—the office staff would verify the completion of the mission.
The clear seawater beat against the beach, the warm sunshine felt wonderfully comforting, but Xavier's mood was soured.
"Xavier, why did you stop me just now? Those aliens' attitude was absolutely repulsive; we should kill them all!" Celine clenched her fists, puzzled. Had it not been for Xavier’s intervention, she would have certainly attacked.
Planet Vegeta was home to many aliens, but she had never encountered any so revolting.
Xavier sighed, trying to shift his mood, "There’s no need; they are merely weaklings, after all!"
The Tuffles may look down on the Saiyans' barbarity, but he scorned the Tuffles's frailty even more! When Planet Vegeta faced destruction, they wouldn't escape either.
