Chapter 27: Vegeta is Born

Xavier listened attentively from the side, his face calm, a gentle smile always present.

Celine had edited the details of their tales, particularly omitting their training journey on Earth. They had agreed on this beforehand; having been away from Planet Vegeta for many years, they were unclear about many current affairs. They decided it was better to understand the situation on Planet Vegeta fully before revealing everything.

"Mom, you wouldn't believe it, but on Planet Selma there's actually a moon! One night, a huge full moon moved through the clouds, and when I went outside, I transformed into a Giant Ape under its light!"

"Oh my, did you lose your senses then?"

"Hehe, I did lose my senses!" Celine spread her hands innocently in front of her.

"Fortunately, Xavier was quick to react. He cut off his own tail first, then mine, which stopped the transformation. Still, he ended up seriously injured. Xavier told me my power level increased tenfold when I transformed!"

Celine chuckled as she recounted the event.

"You know, if Xavier hadn't been so decisive then, things could have turned out much worse." Rebecca hugged Celine tightly, her hands kneading her daughter's cheeks, making Celine struggle with whimpers.

"Xavier, it must have been very tough fighting Celine after she transformed," Rebecca said as she released Celine and turned to Xavier with concern.

Xavier nodded, still shaken by the memory, "Yes, that was the toughest battle I had faced since arriving on Planet Selma. If it weren't for seizing a slim chance at the last moment, the outcome would have been unthinkable. Even so, I ended up injured and bedridden for several months."

Rebecca nodded solemnly, understanding the double-edged nature of the Saiyan's Giant Ape transformation: invaluable in battle against foes but perilous to allies. Thus, when attacking advanced planets, high-ranking warriors would lead and might transform to tackle formidable enemies while lower and mid-level warriors would need to withdraw to avoid becoming collateral damage.

"By the way, where is Uncle Adriel? Didn't you say he was at home too?" After being home for a while and not seeing Adriel, Xavier asked, puzzled.

"Oh, he had some last-minute business at the training squad, but he should be back soon," Rebecca replied.

Xavier nodded understandingly. After the disbandment of Adriel's squad, he had taken a role as an instructor at the training camp, primarily responsible for training young children with high warrior potential, often leading them on simple missions.

Of course, it was the Saiyan children who were in action, with Adriel simply responsible for their supervision. This also highlighted the difference in treatment between mid-level and high-level warriors. Initially, Xavier and the others had spent three years straight in the training camp before being sent out on missions, without such favorable conditions.

They continued talking for a while until Rebecca started preparing dinner. At that time, Adriel also finished his work and returned home.

Seeing his daughter and nephew after many years, Adriel's dark face broke into a smile as he warmly approached and sized them up, saying, "Hahaha, long time no see, you two! Ah, you've both grown up and look sturdy. Xavier, you're increasingly resembling your father."

"Dad!" Celine exclaimed joyfully.

"Uncle Adriel!"

"Very good, hahaha, you're finally back, safe and sound!" Adriel laughed heartily, his voice booming.

He knew that the mission on Planet Selma was anything but easy, posing numerous dangers. He had expected the children might take much longer, so their return after just over five years, safe and sound, indicated that they had successfully passed their test, which delighted Adriel.

The initial trial missions for Saiyans were crucial, directly influencing their future development. A good start often leads to further successes. Adriel himself had excelled in his trials before gradually rising to become the leader of his squad.

He patted Xavier and Celine on the shoulders, pulled out a simple scouter from his pocket, placed it on his ear, and said, "Let's see what your power levels are now."

With a smile, Adriel pressed the scouter's button, which beeped as the numbers appeared.

"962!"

"987!"

Staring at the data displayed on the scouter, Adriel paused briefly, then burst into laughter, "Wow, that's impressive! Such power levels are comparable to those of high-level warriors."

"Not bad at all, perhaps our family might boast two remarkable figures in the future!"

Although Adriel had already guessed that Xavier and Celine's power levels would be substantial based on their safe return to Planet Vegeta, actually seeing the precise figures on the scouter still filled him with pleasant surprise.

To think that his daughter and nephew were not yet nine years old and already boasting nearly a thousand in power level—their potential for the future was boundless. They were sure to become formidable warriors.

"Ah, I've been so caught up in talking that I'm starving. A full stomach is a prerequisite for a Saiyan's battle readiness. Rebecca, bring out the food!" Adriel said, assuming the role of the head of the family as he ushered everyone to the dining table.

The Saiyan dinner table was a battlefield in itself.

During the meal, the four Saiyans fiercely competed for food, sparking an intense battle for sustenance. The clatter of dishes resonating with each other filled the air as the food on the table disappeared at a visibly rapid pace. The scene was so intense that faint afterimages appeared from their rapid movements, a spectacle that any martial artist from Earth would consider a form of training.

The amount of food a Saiyan family consumes in a day is staggering. Without a specialized food supply system, Planet Vegeta would quickly fall into chaos due to food shortages. Therefore, the planet had specific aliens responsible for food provisioning.

After dinner, in the living room.

The family of four sat on the sofa, with Adriel browsing through a tablet-like data receiver, planning the next training schedules for the camp while listening to Celine chatter about her great achievements.

Rebecca sat quietly, listening and occasionally updating Xavier about the current state of Planet Vegeta.

Xavier listened intently, needing to understand the current situation on Planet Vegeta to better plan his future actions.

Through indirect probing, Adriel and Rebecca recounted the recent events on Planet Vegeta to him and Celine.

From Adriel's description, Xavier learned that the overall situation on Planet Vegeta hadn't changed much. The planet still aided Frieza in the conquest of other planets. Although they weren't exactly committing atrocities, their actions certainly caused panic and fear on the targeted planets.

Importantly, there had been significant events in recent years, such as the birth of the Saiyan Prince—Vegeta, the first son of King Vegeta, which had occurred just over a year ago.

Although Xavier wasn't surprised to hear about the birth of Vegeta, his expression turned grave, understanding that with Vegeta's arrival, the fateful day when Frieza would destroy Planet Vegeta drew closer.

Adriel spoke with a tone of admiration. At the time of Vegeta's birth, the scouter detected his power level at an astonishing 280, an exceptionally high figure for a newborn, marking him as a prodigious elite warrior. King Vegeta was so pleased that he named the child after their home planet and celebrated the birth with several days of feasting at the palace.

And now, just over a year later, Vegeta's power level had soared to 420—a rate of growth unprecedented in Saiyan history.

"Prince Vegeta is truly a once-in-a-generation super prodigy. It might only take him a few years to reach a power level of 1000..." Adriel remarked wistfully. He had never seen a Saiyan with such immense potential, and given Vegeta's royal status, it was clear that King Vegeta's legacy was secure.

Adriel then glanced at his daughter and nephew. Although both children were also exceptional, they paled in comparison to Prince Vegeta. Xavier and Celine had only reached a power level of 1000 by around the age of nine, whereas Prince Vegeta might achieve that by the age of five or six.

The three-year gap could lead to vastly different futures.

Despite his reflections, Adriel's face remained smiling; compared to other Saiyans of their age, his children were outstanding. He couldn't fairly compare his own children to a prince—after all, they were in entirely different classes. If Xavier and Celine could someday surpass him and reach a power level of 10,000, he would be more than grateful.

At this moment, however, Adriel was unaware that Xavier and Celine's true strength far exceeded his expectations, and the goals he set for them were inadvertently modest.

If he knew their actual capabilities, Adriel's reaction would likely be one of sheer astonishment.
