Percy lost that fight and he also lost the fight in the book. He would still lost the fight if he wasn't poison and when he poisoned he could barely see what was going on. Comparing two different shows with age demographic and more episodes of course there are going to be bigger stakes. The funniest part is that Percy in the book jumped in the river not fell but Rick didn't know the river was further away for the arch than he thought it was closer but in reality he would have never made it in the river. He fixed his mistake and had him fell and the water catching him and had him landed in the river.
