I noticed a lot of reactors who started the show a few years after it ended don’t believe the show fell off in quality. That sentiment seemed to be a holdover from a minority of very vocal fans who were not shy in voicing their frustrations. I think a lot of their criticisms had to do with the uneven schedule CN had and too many breaks in-between episodes. I also think at the time, people were expecting a huge fight in the end and to see the Diamonds get their punishment as war criminals. However, it went a totally different way and it makes sense with Steven. He was always a defender/protector, not a fighter/killer. I actually think the ending was beautiful and Future showed Steven did not fully forgive the Diamonds, especially White. And now that we have the complete series, whatever issues with the pacing with the Boardie episodes and the Gem episodes aren’t nearly as bad as it seemed when CN was slowly airing them.

Maybe similar to how the zoo arc was. Ooooooh this was thing you guys told me about with how she kept something thing and it caused her SU. Yeah it seems it was super successful so I’m glad she kept it in! Yes we are in the future!!!!

But Cartoon network didnt want Rebecca Sugar to do Garnets gay wedding but Rebecca really pushed for it and they told her that if she went through with it the show would have to be cancelled. So she took that hit for the sake of equality and representation and when cartoon network saw the massive positive reaction to the wedding and the finale they regreted it and offered Rebecca a movie and another season which ended up being the movie and steven universe future. She managed to still wrap up the main story beautifully and included the hard hitting bits that wouldve made the body of season 6 in this finale tho. Im guessing Blue and Yellow's change of heart wouldve been their own episodes for example. Im so excited for you to watch the movie and steven universe future tho!

2024-12-31 11:19:32 +0000 UTCBeautiful series finale! very emotional! and honestly it was a perfect ending for Steven universe, I think this show was amazing lots of fans say this seems rushed but I don’t really think so either, the diamonds being reformed Steven changing their minds is perfect, also the new fusions were awesome! obsidian definitely my favorite it looks so awesome! the music was phenomenal, playing the extended intro for the end was icing on the cake! also change your mind song is beautiful it ends with Steven and gems sitting there and looking at the stars! also I agree we needed more of white diamond but seeing her self reflection was beautiful her walls had been broken down by seeing what she’s done and how steven is his own being if you notice the pink diamond gem was changing to rose and pink diamond but turned into pink steven which was really awesome basically showing that Steven is Steven and not just pink or rose and they choose to be Steven! showing the message it’s okay to be yourself or whoever you want it be! beautiful stuff! definitely an allegory for gender and sexual orientation! also season 5 has been my favorite too! now you should definitely watch the movie after this and after that Steven universe future! thank you for reacting to Steven universe it’s been an amazing journey!
