Yeaaaaah. RD hasn’t been the best these days. It’s very frustrating to see her like this. Unsure how low she would rank for me out of the mane 6 but this was not a good look in the slightest

2024-12-08 20:59:40 +0000 UTCyeah, this is why Rainbow Dash is number six on my list of the main six. Wasn’t it in season one where she was all about getting flutter shy to cheer for her for the young flyers competition? Very self-centered attitude in this episode

2024-12-08 07:12:31 +0000 UTCwell said about this being a passing of the torch lesson from celestia and twilight. not the main focus but she is acting and doing things that she would. and while that is true, the competetion makes sense and was also a lesson for the kids to NOT do so it did work itself out. This just felt like such a middle finger to RD's sporty nature. ughhh. frustrating episode. and i am up to more episodes and while there aren't any maddening/bad ones, maybe that annoyance is still there

2024-12-08 07:05:12 +0000 UTCAgreed probably rainbow dashes worst episode, which is crazy cause it’s season 9, I knew you wouldn’t like this one many fans didn’t, she had a really bad attitude in this, and something different seemed wrong with the the writing they made seem extra bad and very lacking in empathy and very uncaring in this one, also you’re right rainbow dash wouldn’t fluttershy to cheer loud for her to the sonic rainboom and in this one she doesn’t know what cheering is or means or how it can be helpful ? like what ? It’s like the writers didn’t even know about that or read upon it before writing this one, very disappointed in rd and the writing in this one, I don’t like character regressions especially in the last season, but I did enjoy the cheering and other characters in this episode.

2024-12-07 09:30:01 +0000 UTCI used to think this was the worst episode in the whole show, but I've come to realize it is not as bad as Non-Compete Clause, for a few reasons. 1. This episode only regresses one character, not two. 2. This episode has cute cheerleader ponies 3. This is actually something I only just noticed after having seen this episode several times, but at the very end when Celestia says "nicely done" to Twilight, we see how this episode actually DOES fit into the overall season 9 story arc. Twilight totally Celestia'ed the heck out of Rainbow Dash here, demonstrating Twilight's continued growth into being ready to succeed Celestia on the throne. I know, that's hardly a big part of the episode, but I'm not trying to say it's a good episode. This episode SUCKS. I'm just saying it's better than Non-Compete Clause. And don't worry, there isn't another episode after this that is this objectively bad. Some viewers find certain things in the remaining episodes questionable and others disagree, so your opinion of them will largely depend on you. But there's nothing else like this.

2024-12-06 14:40:42 +0000 UTCThe thing I don't like in this episode is simply inconsistencies in Rainbow's character. RD learned the things that didn't have to learn at all or something that certainly wouldn't take so much time to get to if she acted according to her previously established character, and because of that the culmination feels cheap and artificial, like something that didn't suppose to happen. It's not as bad as it was in "Non-compete clause", since here RD actually learns her lesson, but still.
