Genryuusai Shigekuni Yamamoto is the old man that seems to be calling the shots, hence “Old Man Yama” as Captain Kyoraku calls him. Chad’s real name is Sado Yasutora. So when Ichigo saw his last name on his nametag, the first symbol in “Sado” is usually pronounced “cha.” So Ichigo misread it as Chado, and then just refused to correct himself lmao.
