To answer your question, Jack, "Kazenbo" is the name of what Kanjuro drew. In Japanese mythology, the Kazenbo is a yokai in the form of a monk engulfed in flames. "Kazenbo" means "monk before the fire" in Japanese. The legend of the Kazenbo does not seem overly related to the Kurozumi or Kanjuro since they do not seem to be spirits related to revenge, so I think it just LOOKS like a Kazenbo and that's the reason for the name. Essnetially, the Kazenbo is meant to represent the burning (literally burning) hatred of the Kurozumi clan. More specifically, it represents Kanjuro's hatred. Kanjuro seemed to somehow transfer the will and hatred of his soul to the Kazenbo as he was dying, because we hear it's thoughts as Kanjuro's voice. It's even more symbolic of being born of Kanjuro's suffering because it was painted with his own blood. As you noticed, it's shape also resembles Kanjuro in the flash back where he ate the DF.

Imo, it's obvious every subordinate of these Pirate Captains are not stronger than their captains, but I feel like we have seen so many first mate, or right hand man didn't serve their captain just because of mere strength but also respect and gratitude.
