We have seen awakened devil fruits: Doflamingo, Katakuri and the three Jailers from Impel Down (the beasts) and crocodile hinted at this back in Alabasta - he probably is in the process of it. Also Big Mom is strongly hinted at being awakened.

Even when he was at his lowest with his back to the wall he resisted the temptation to discard his humanity for power, even though nobody would have blamed him for it. That's who Sanji is. We also get to see the warmer side of the bond that Sanji and Zoro have this arc, especially this episode. It's peak Wano from now on.
