I feel like these reveals and fake outs were probably less annoying in the manga due to anime pacing issues. Typical anime pacing for an adaptation is usually 2 manga chapters adapted per episode, but with Wano the pace is one chapter adapted for every 2 episodes or 0.5 chapters adapted per episode on average. The overall average pacing of Wano in the anime is at about 1/4th the speed as the manga when compared to normal anime adaptations, so you can think of it as being 1/4th the speed for pacing. It is way more agonizing and drawn out in the anime, so things like Kanjuro and Orochi fake outs get wayyyyyyyyy drawn out to absurd degrees. Not saying it is good writing, but I think maybe in the manga readers would have been less sick of it because you didn't have these huge gaps where you didn't hear from a dead character and then they suddenly reappear. In anime it feels like the character has been bleeding out for literal years lmao, but it has not actually been that long in universe so them still being alive is not that crazy. I like many of the scenes with Kanjuro and Orochi, but I think their appearances could have been more concise. Some of these encounters could have been combined. They could have hinted at the characters still being alive rather than having it come out of nowhere, too. You would build background suspense that way. It does not ruin the arc for me like it does for some. Personally, I find villain fake out deaths to be way more forgivable because it's not like their death had some major impact on the story for anyone thematically.

I'm not a big fan of fake out deaths, but I can tolerate a lot. Orochi's first fake out made sense, because of his devil fruit. His second fake out is just unnecessary and pretty much only to get more use out of his devil fruit ability. Overall meh, but I think it's excuseable. Kanjuro didn't really have two fakeouts, it was only one, kind of, since the second time was just him acting on his last breath. But it feels like a fake out, because that scene where he was defeated a second time has been a while ago.
