notice how this buster call was settled in the same way the only other buster call we know of. robin escaped with a path of ice while this time they escaped with a path of fire. also, loved seeing boa hancock fight. she was so cool.

PotatPengu

They always giving Usopp cool moments in the movies they needa take the character out of Oda's hands if you ask me

Happy

I love Stampede because it gave so many good Moments for Usopp and I loved Douglas Bullet. I honestly wish that they would write Usopp the same way in the actual Canon. I honestly wish Douglas Bullet was canon though just because he's an absolute powerhouse and has a crazy DF, he's basically a far better Kidd. But Shiki and his Escape from Impel Down is the only thing canon from Strong World. Thats about it, but when you come to watch Film Red, some aspects of it are Canon.

Trijim

Red is one of my personal favourites and it led me to become a massive Ado fan after watching it. I might be biased toward it considering it's the only one I had the pleasure of seeing in Cinemas, but despite the few problems it has I do think it's overall a far more enjoyable and well thought out movie than Stampede.

Y0m0three

Tbh I dropped this half way through the first time I watched it but Jack has the ability to make me enjoy anything 😌

Ant

Stampede Usopp is the best version of Usopp we've ever gotten, and it's not even canon

Galleon

just a fun fact ... this movie released before we got the Oden-Roger flashback from Wano ... so this movie was actually the very 1st time it was revelead that the name of the last island was not "Raftale" but "Laught Tale" ... this reveal alone caused the entirety of the OP community to start theorizing again, until we finally got the explanaiton and the epic "He Laughed" moment.

Stampede is definitely on the lower to middle tier of One Piece movies as a standalone movie - The plot is about as simple and contrived as it gets, the villain had some potential but ended up just being a CGI mess, and most of the runtime of the film was dedicated to cameos over actual interesting interactions between characters. That said, it was definitely a "of its time" sort of movie. Though I still consider it one of the most forgettable OP movies, it was a pretty big deal when it came out, and I do have fond memories about that time period. If you didn't know, Stampede actually revealed the "Laugh Tale" romanization before the manga itself did, which some people kind of disliked, but it was still a massive deal for the community to realize after decades that Raftel was actually Laugh Tale. That fact, the introduction with Blackbeard's iconic laughter, and scenes like Zoro vs Fujitora, Sabo vs Smoker (as a reflection of Ace vs Smoker, Sabo even says the exact same line as Ace "A fight between our powers would never end!), and the final scene of Sabo and the visualization of Ace creating an escape path were all things that served as huge hype moments. And the crushing of the eternal pose at the end was also just one of the most Luffy things ever written by someone other than Oda (Oda supervised a lot of the films but tbh it's pretty obvious that this basically just meant he looked at the script and said "ok". The only film he ACTUALLY wrote content for was Film Red, and even then it was just like a few pages of how the plot should go). Anyways, I'm far more excited for you to watch Red. Red has some strange pacing issues as well, partially due to the writers kind of struggling to find a way to incorporate Ado's music (which is central to the film's plot/characters). That said, I do think it is one of the few One Piece movies with an actual storyline to it (like Film Z), and it does a mostly good job of telling it. It's also one of the only films that has canon elements in it (Strong World had Shiki, Red has Uta), which doesn't mean that much in the scheme of things but it's nice to addendum regardless. Most importantly though, the music is a banger and the animation in the final fights is great.

Takeo Ryuu

I think you ruined the hype by not watching this after WCI since the animation looked better then but not if you watch it after Wano. There were characters we hadn’t seen before but who showed up in Wano, and Usopp was done dirty in wano so his moments in this movie would’ve felt a lot more enjoyable cause you aren't constantly hating him. Snakeman was also new and hype before wano

Lorper

I really loved this movie because it felt like a complete celebration of One Piece itself. I feel like a lot of anime movies suffer from "Big CGI Final Boss" as their main villain. I do think the first half of this movie is better because of that. Excited for Film Red now.

ScivarWarlock

One piece movies are not cannon but some characters and abilities and lore is canon.
