Comments

I'm sorry but while you might be right about debating Jack kinda ASKS about it right at the start of the reaction and thats what comments are for

It's true that he draws left handed, so maybe if there are scenes showing him using his right hand as his dominant hand every other time then yes that was foreshadowing. Oda says in an SBS "Kanjuro draws all the bad pictures with his left hand. After his betrayal, he's right-handed". So it checks out. The wiki also mentions some other stuff hinting at his traitorous nature. The epithet "Evening Shower" could be connected to sunshowers, which in Japanese folklore is known as Kitsune no Yomeiri which implies deception since rain during sunny weather was thought to be a fox's trickery. His ability is related to ink (墨, sumi?) which is usually black (黒, kuro?) and "black ink" can be read as kurozumi. Kanjuro's animal resemblance is a hototogisu.[5] His animal resemblence being a species of the cuckoo bird, could be a reference to him being a traitor. Cuckoos are parasitic birds that lay their eggs in other birds' nests. The victims will then hatch and care for the cuckoo eggs as if they are one of their own, until they grow big and strong enough to push the other eggs and chicks out of the nest, effectively killing them. This behaviour resembles Kanjuro's role as one of the nine scabbards. Lastly, my own thought is that his ability is perfectly suited to espionage since he can deliver letters with his own creatures without alerting anyone. Also, Oda likes his gags but realstically it made no sense for someone with his devil fruit to be such a horrible artist.

Can we stop bringing this crap up already? I agree with you 100%, but must be pollute the replies with this pointless debate? Nobody is going to convince each other lol. We should be talking about the show... not a fictional gender debate.

DiamonDust

It's definitely not the worst... not even close. It's not meant to be a hype fight, it is an emotional fight. It does that well. None of the important fights in this arc are bad, it's all bangers. Now, the random fights vs the gifters every now and then? Those are questionable, cause they are funny but they linger too long.

DiamonDust

Kanjuros mini bird also looks almost exactly like the giant bird he drew in dressrosa

MelissaM

You are mentally sick don't peddle illness as a virtue.

erueka6

at every point in the manga and the anime, during current time atleast, everyone uses "he" for Yamato. you're just incorrect

GrungoThe Omniscient

That's not the only hint, when Jack was at the bottom of the sea after being sank by Zunesha he asked for help while a fish 'presumably' drawn by Kanjuro was looking at him

Happy

While kiku vs kanjuro was okay it's definitely the worst fight in this arc imo so i'm glad it's over and done with so soon. That means its only up from here!

chrisis

it's 'she' bro not he...

Umar Baig

Kanjuro and Orochi are losers. It also makes sense for a man like Kaido to finally snap and erase him right away. It'd be concerning if he catered to Orochi so much while being that powerful in power and strength. It kind of reminds me of Lucci and Spandam

Gita

I don't want to spoil anything, but we know how unnecessarily repetitve things go after these events...

Renato Rodrigues

When the Akazaya nine first fought Kaido and his army, you see back to back them all animations of them doing attacks and killing a bunch of Kaido's men, but if you look at Kanjuro's animation, he swings at nothing and none of Kaido's men are killed. Also, RIP bozo.

Vrahnken Eisenbach

That and majority of the Akazaya Nine have a more fleshed out Backstory compared to Kanjuro which was literally "He's the Ghost of Kibi" and cut people's hair off.

Trijim

Next episode got one of the coolest sequences in the show cant wait

Wofeloll

The only hint that Kanjiro was the traitor was that he was right-handed but drew with his left hand dominant. or at least that's what I heard on a post lmao.

sarthak bhatia

Kaido respects Oden enough that Yamato being Kozuki Oden he respects that, as for the world Balance the 4 emperors keep each other in check as rivals hence why Rocks was such a threat with all those big names allied, the Navy and 7 warlords are to power check the 4 emperors mainly the Admirals, Vice Admirals and Warlords, its essentially a cold war sort of.

Pyro Sasebo

Jack Pluton we dont know what it is, franky had the blueprints for "pluton" and robin could uncover the real pluton, frankys blueprints where in case the real world got uncovered to be created to fight the real pluton

pablo

Yamato : *dramatically tells Luffy that his own father put explosive shackles on him when he was 8 so that he could never escape the island and then regularly beat him down* Luffy : "cool story bro anyway if you don't like those I can just take them off for you"

Log

We actually can't. Because she's marketed as a woman in Japan.

Waywatcher Fireson

Dysphoria should not be the benchmark for being trans, it should be Euphoria. It's not as clear cut as Kiku for sure, but he's definitely a trans man. Based btw

GrungoThe Omniscient

Thing about Yamato is that he is not like Kiku or trans in the right meaning of the word Yamato doesn't feel like he is in the wrong body or anything like that, it's more like some kid saying they wanna be like Iron man so they identify as Tony Stark It's more of he just wants to be one of the Bros asides from wanting to "be" Oden. And yes we can still call him with the pronouns he wants to be called even if you don't consider Yamato "transgender"

Karatsuki

kaido says trans rights not human rights

kejihxv

and so I ask you ladies and gents, what devil fruit does Orochi have?

Y0m0three

The Yamato/Luffy dynamic is the shit i live for.

to answer your Question the hints were: 1:Kanjuro was the only prominent ally who didn't get a bounty from Doflamingo after Sugar went down. People found it strange even back then. Perhaps Oda planned it since the beginning. 2:When Jack arrived at Zou, he seemed determined to find Raizo. No matter how many minks told him otherwise, he knew with certainty that the ninja was hiding out on the elephant. However, only a handful of Oden's retainers were present at the time.Between Kin'emon, Kanjuro, Dogstorm, Cat Viper, and Raizo himself, Kanjuro was the only person who could have realistically given him away. Dogstorm and Cat Viper fought Jack tooth and nail, while Kin'emon doesn't align with the other incriminating aspects of the traitor's life. 3:After Orochi's conference with Kaido, he released the Wano spy's messenger bird to return to him. The creature may seem innocuous, though a close inspection reveals to the contrary. It shares a quality with a member of Oden's retainers, specifically its telltale rosy cheeks. Since Kanjuro is the only person designed in such a way, his messenger bird is a direct link back to him. This connection is even stronger since he's able to create animals using his devil fruit

Next episode is gonna make me go crazy
