2025-01-24 05:50:09 +0000 UTCI feel you so much when you said about 900 episodes in and it's still peak after peak and about Oden as a new character but so loveable and unforgettable. I'm not really into long series even with TV shows above 20 episodes lol, but 900 episodes in and I still fell in love with the story all over again, it's insane. It's partly because of Luffy being the MC, if he's not the MC then I might have dropped it a long time ago and not as hooked as I usually would with long series but also the world building is insane. It's not about how many places the OP world has, but how the moving pieces, histories, and cultures still happened without revolving around the MC. 900 episodes in and Oden's backstory is incredible. Oden was just mentioned in two arcs before this, even though we knew more of him only when we got to Wano and met Kinemon, and he's still an amazing character. Also, about Shanks, Oda ever said if you see more of Shanks in the series, then we are finally entering the final Saga, just so you know why Shanks is here and there and not have much screen time lol.

Momo said Roger's name sounded familiar, and that he had met him ... and he did!!! back then we didn't knew about their time travel but it was a hint Oda left there - And about Blackbeard ... Buggy tells Shanks he has never sleep since he was born, and aaall the way back on Drum Island, Luffy tells to Sanji that someone (Shanks most likely) told him that people from Snow country never sleep... maybe that's also a hint about blackbeard, but the "snow country" part kinda doesn't match, because shanks didn't meet blackbeard on a snow country and we don't know if he was born in one

How oden met whitebeard and subsequently met roger and how that was the way that roger actually made it to raftel just makes complete sense. We've always known the cliff notes but to get the specific details makes it feel like a true mystery being revealed. Only the strongest can get this far and only the people willing to 1000+ eps will ever understand how great this story is.

It really hits you with that feeling of realizing that you've been following One Piece for X years, watching for over 950 episodes, reading for however many chapters -- after so much time, you're finally seeing these legends in their prime. It's such a great payoff. The guy you asked about near the end of 966 is Scopper Gaban. Rayleigh and Gaban were Roger's left and right arms the same way Zoro and Sanji are for Luffy. Given that most of the other important people from Roger's crew have shown up so far in the story, where Gaban is or what happened to him has always been a big point of speculation.
