The music used toward the end of episode is called "Prelude to War" by Bear McCreary and is my absolute favorite from the BSG OST. I'd recommend them all but some of the song titles might contain spoilers.

2024-01-30 17:05:17 +0000 UTCOne of my favourite juxtapositions in the show is how Apollo says "it's like a dream" at the beginning of the episode, and you've got this very optimistic tone as a shiny new battlestar joins the fleet, and then it starts getting more and more twisted throughout until by the end the dream has become a nightmare. Given how many people the cylons killed it's hard to feel sympathy for them in most cases. The Galactica crew did torture and ultimately execute Leoben, though they also believed he'd hidden a bomb in the fleet. If the story on Pegasus had only gone that far it would be understandable. That the Pegasus crew chose to do what they did reveals something deeply sadistic and evil about them. They might excuse their actions saying she's just a machine, but clearly they thought r*pe would be humiliating and painful enough as an interrogation technique. I don't think they even wanted information at that point. I think it was about revenge. Yes she was responsible for the deaths of a lot of their crewmates, but what they did says a lot more about them than the cylons. It shows they're no better than the cylons in The Farm. Granted most of the crew probably didn't participate, but they certainly all knew. Disturbing episode, but I do love Adama's resolve at the end. As soon as he says he wants a marine strike team, you know shit's gonna get real. Galactica is no match for Pegasus, but he's going for it anyway. The man always looks out for his people.
