2023-11-26 10:51:06 +0000 UTCThis episode I'd say lands somewhere in the top 5 most disturbing episodes of the series. What the cylons are doing is obviously horrific, but worse yet their reasons for that kind of barbaric practice isn't all that good. There's an understandable argument that if a species is facing extinction then you've got a duty to make some babies, but the cylons aren't facing extinction. They don't even face death, just waking up in a new manufactured body. What they did setting up Helo and Sharon still has some ethical concerns, false pretenses and all, but that's worlds apart from what's essentially industrialized rape. It also says something about the cylons that they're willing to stoop to that level of evil to accomplish their miracle. It also clearly wasn't working. Even someone like Starbuck who has an aversion to having kids, if you leave her with Anders long enough, you're probably gonna get a kid. At any rate they have a ride off Caprica now that Sharon is back, so undoubtedly there's going to be some drama once they meet up with the fleet and bring back not only the arrow but another Sharon. Especially given the fleet the fleet being divided right now.
