It's also why I gave up on SGU. The writers wanted SGU to be a soap opera sent on a star ship, and I think they went too heavy on the soap opera part and too light on the star ship part. And Babylon 5 already did the space opera part better, what with uplifting soliloquies and inter-species politics.]

2023-11-12 05:25:16 +0000 UTCSo this episode raises quite a few moral concerns for me. It seems like there should be some code of conduct when you're in someone else's body. We saw some of this in Tamara sedating Telford so he didn't further injure Young's already damaged body. Specifically though, having sex while in someone else's body seems like an absolute red line. I mean on the surface, there's the issue of what that can do to relationships. What if for Emily, it becomes more about the car and less about who's driving if you know what I mean? Also what if Telford has a wife/GF? Is she going to be OK with the idea? And of course we see the issue being raised with the connection being cut "mid nut" as it were, and Telford showing up later. More concerning though is the potential for pregnancy or STDs. Suppose Eli shot his shot now that he's getting attention, and he catches something in the process, only of course it's the other dude dealing with the consequences. What if some rizzler at the club saw Chloe crying, offered the good ole "shoulder to cry on", and oh shit, he didn't use a condom. Again, that consequence isn't for her to deal with. Also what if their borrowed bodies have allergies, or need certain medications. There should be a whole list of dos and don'ts they need to sign off on before they can leave in those bodies.
