In case it has not been mentioned the Mckay we saw here was not the same as the Rod Mckay that came through the rift before in SGA. The writers said this was an another version as many Mckays went through rifts in that event. We just saw the one coming to the 'real' universe. Plus Rod Mckay said Sheppard was in Atlantis in his reality. Kind of how the AU Carter from Point of View was not the same as the one from the first season.

2023-09-07 03:15:05 +0000 UTCWeirdly, this is one of my favourite episodes. It's just such a cool concept and the story comes together nicely. It took me a few watches to notice that John lied about the amount of money left behind by the Wraith so that nobody would suspect it going missing, and in the car at the end, he was driving off into a new life with the bag of cash. He was remembering the potential McKay told him he had and made a life-altering decision to go against what he'd become in this reality and embraced what he could be/is in another universe. He died but he saved the world one last time.
