I had all my teen years in the 90's. Not sure which decade I'd trade that for. If I said anything before then, I'd only be making myself older. If I said anything after that it'd be a pretty transparent effort to make myself younger. π€£

2023-01-05 17:12:50 +0000 UTCYea I was super resistant to youtube for a few years when it came out. Like whenever someone would post a youtube link I would be like NOPE not clicking it. Silly me. I think even being 5 years older with how much I had been into computers I would have had some money and probably bought some stock at least. Though who knows not making a lot of money right out of high school combine with getting into the world of warcraft beta and how much of a time consuming addiction that was for so many people. If I wasnt working I was on wow and cut my sleeping hours in half just to make more time for wow. I had never planned to play because paying a monthly fee for a game wasnt something i ever wanted to do. But i signed up for the beta and they got their hooks in me.

2023-01-04 07:27:26 +0000 UTCBUT, the good part about being in the Internet boom, was that if you knew what you were doing, you could monetize it and benefit from it. For example, those that got onto and became creators on YouTube when it started up, are the big ones now, and millionaires. I was there, but I thought YT was a fad, and did not sign up on it for many years, and regret that decision, cause if I had made a gaming channel at the start, or right when Google bought YT, I'd be a big gaming channel, but now, there's so much competition. So yeah, being at the Internet boom was neat, and if you did it right, the potential was there to be a big name now, for a lot of things, but you had to be in on the ground floor, and I so regret that I wasn't smart enough to benefit at the right times. Look at the things like Facebook, or Google, or Amazon, imagine being the one to start those, and get in when they were new, the potential looking back was mindblowing, and so many made it work for them, but I didn't :( I was dumb. I graduated HS in '98, so I was in that prime time to make something of it, and I didn't. OH well.
