That damn Snickers wrapper. Infamous goof. Pretty fun, action heavy episode. SGA is a bit stronger than SG1 I feel in terms of having a wide variety of sci-fi concepts turned in to episodes(as opposed to SG1s moral dilemmas). This one does have some flavors of Lifeboat, but even then it leans more heavily on the technical problem of saving the survivors than the ethical problem of killing some of them to save Jackson. Can't believe you were thinking Sheppard was going to die. The man is too much of a badass to be offed in some one off ep. It'd be a season finale if anything, 2 parter minimum. Speaking of, we almost got another savage Sheppard moment. When he's cutting through the door and Jamus finally gives up, the way he keeps going and doesn't change expression for a few seconds, you halfway expect him to just cut through the door and shoot the guy regardless. "Too late, you had your chance". You know people talk about cloaks and shields for the puddle jumpers, Mckay was trying to make them hyperspace capable when he was super smart, but nobody talks about what would probably be the most OP upgrade for them.......... asgard beaming tech. Would help in a ton of situations. Such as recovering the first jumper, if it was flung free with enough force and in a direction that kept it in orbit. Suppose they could have someone on a tether do a space walk to get to it, but being able to beam someone in without the Daedalus around would be fantastic. Speaking of, half the situations in Pegasus that call for the Daedalus seem top be down to it's beaming tech. I know Earth has it's hands full, but it would be sweet if they built a Tau'ri equivalent of an Al'Kesh. Couple railgun turrets, some nuclear missiles with reinforced frames that allows them to penetrate through the outer hull of a hive ship and explode after a delay. But most usefully just hyperdrive and transporter tech to help Atlantis' teams out of bind's like this when Daedalus is between galaxies. The shuttle landing sequence is a lot of fun, but does strain believability quite a bit. We all know what disaster can result from even minor damage to the heat shield, and not only is this shuttle old and out of fuel, but it had a freakin moon explode around it(great shot!!) AND survived a belly landing. Rodney was right, that was impossible, but I guess Sheppard has some kind of reality warping ability to turn his macho fantasies into reality. Solid SGA episode.

2022-11-27 19:12:19 +0000 UTCThey should just always be going on space gate missions with the Daedalus, it would have solved all their problems by being able to just beam up everyone and saving the survivors. Seriously though, I understand going through the gate for planet based missions, but when there is a space gate like this, they should travel to the planet via Daedalus, or at least have it go with them on most missions, or have it close by or on standby to head to them.
