Finally got around to watching this, 1 ep a day on my breaks at work over the weekend. I can see what you mean that it's somewhat underwhelming, but I think that's down to it being a huge 3 parter right on the eve of the finale, but not actually the finale. The natural conclusion would be this was essentially the finale and the last episode is more an epilogue. I don't know if I've ever seen the finale in full, I just remember a few scenes. Still, my take is that this 3 parter was a mix of tying up loos strings, gathering the cast back together, and positioning the pieces on the chessboard for the finale. That would be why the resolution feels lacking IMO. Obviously aside from the fate of the wormhole knowledge, the biggest plot point of this whole thing was getting Aeryn back from a truly horrible situation. On top of getting Aeryn and Scorpius and Chiana back from the scarrans, we also have Stark and Harvey back in the mix, which is certainly welcome. Noranti played a pretty big role in the first part, and then just seemed hilariously bewildered for the rest of the 3 parter. She can seem completely nuts most of the time, but I do like the scenes where she's dealing with the fact that while necessary, her plan did kill innocent bystanders. It's a pretty big moment of growth for her. It would have detracted from the seriousness/tenderness of the scene, but when she's confessing that to Rygel that she's responsible for innocent people dying, I really wanted him to say "I wouldn't waste any tears on the scruffy, sadistic, sebacean bitch", just for old time's sake. Interesting twist about the scarrans and how they need this plant to be at all intelligent. No wonder they need the kalish to administrate. Probably too few of them to manage everything. Then again, the kalish seem to be smart enough to realize (unlike charrids) that if the scarrans succeed in wiping out the "lesser" species, they'll have far less need of either species anymore. I've been pretty back and forth on Braca over the course of the series, but mad respect for him standing up to Grayza here. The guy has really grown into a genuine leader over the series, and Grayza needed to be taken down a peg or 12 with her "my way or the high way" BS. Also good on John for throwing the fact she raped him back in her face. I guess D'Argo and Chiana have buried the hatchet. Couldn't help but laugh when you said "and then his son that he yearned for for so long finally came", because all I could think was "and then he met his dad's girlfriend, and then he finally came". Don't think I could get over that, but good for them. I would be rather anticlimactic if the series ended here, but I'm looking forward to the finale and the miniseries. Then I can finally say I've watched Farscape in full.

2022-11-29 00:36:20 +0000 UTCEnjoyed the triple bubble. My takeaways: Sikozu owned these episodes with her strategic moves; John is a mess and will never recover; and Scorpius isn’t as big of a boss as the Scarran leader, Staleek. So much to unpack there. Season finale, here we come!
