Glad you enjoyed it and weren't spoiled. The press release stuff was probably better than previous years. At least for me, as I didn't look further into it beyond a few ones I couldn't help but see. So I knew that he was coming back, but they hadn't made it clear he was next in the cycle. I liked that, so it became a genuine mild surprise for me. I've gotten emotional the 3 times I've watched this now. I can't imagine how I would have felt had series 11, 12 and 13 had been better. Interesting that Ryan wasn't put in here anywhere.... Not even from a small video call with Graham. Surely that could have been easily shot. Wasn't he asked? Didn't he want to? I wasn't disappointed, but some fans of this era must have liked his character. Not doing it almost felt like an acknowledgement that he wasn't popular enough. Certainly considering a trait of the episode was past companions. I don't like that they ended this era with some story aspects not made very clear to me. It doesn't have to, but it would have been nice. As those aspects turned me off the shows credibility in its writing structure. I had wondered at one point if Jack was meant to have a big component of the story. But that might have been abandoned.... I still don't know where Jo Martin's Doctor fits. Maybe between 2 and 3 as she has the self imposed title and a TARDIS that looked like a Police Box. Was The Master really the timeless child? That's just my own conjecture. Given the Gallifrey data based wasn't completely recovered by his own admission. Certainly when all aspects of the story presented didn't seem to coalesce. From this era, previous NuWho and Classic. At least from my limited understanding. Big fans of this era maybe can fill me in on that one. It looks like he either started something he never intended to resolve. Couldn't because of events and was unwilling or unable to adapt. Or was told to change direction. Or maybe didn't think it through properly. I honestly have no idea which it is now. This was a better send off for Jodie than I was expecting. So all in all, more than pleasantly surprised.
