I definitely agree - I'm not a big fan of them. It makes sense someone would take over the power vacuum left over after most of the goa'uld were killed, and it's fine they're just regular humans - I just wish their story was, like you say, less boring.

RIP to Emerson. Probably tied with Caldwell for favourite battlecruiser commander in SG, though Pendergast went out like a boss saving his crew. I just wish he'd died doing something more meaningful, like flying a captured ori fighter into an ori mothership with a nuke or something, not executed in cold blood bu the freakin lucian alliance. I'm not a fan of them as a faction, even the genii are more interesting IMO. This is also the episode where SG1 surpassed X Files as longest running North American sci fi series. Smallville later surpassed it, as did X Files again when the 10th and 11th seasons were released.

Timothy Nikiforovs

Kind of understandable IMO. The LA have got to be the most boring recurring faction in the franchise. Even the genii have more going for them IMO.

Timothy Nikiforovs

I forgot how good this episode was. I think on my first run of this season I was all pumped for Ancient and Ori stuff so this one got a little lost in the mix but it is a tight episode and it made the Lucian Alliance seem more of a serious threat. A few people mentioned it but yeah, the LA aren't Goa'uld, just smugglers and criminals that took advantage of the System Lords being gone to take their ships and territories.

Joel Featherstone

The Lucian Alliance are not Goa'uld

Brent Justice

is Buffy coming this weekend?

Looks like next week is SG1 10/11 double, following week is one of each, then SGA 10/11 double, and then one and one thru the second halves of both.

Stef Furness

Is there a specific order he's watching the rest? Next week may be a bit off synch

the LA sure is a larger player in the end of the run.. sure.. I however, never completely got the LA. there are many other thechnologically advanced civilizations around the milky way at that time.. why did the illiterate human slaves rise to such immense power so quickly? while i might understand it would be possible for them to get closer to goaüld tech than other races, i dont see how they would easily understand it. the same with the human intergalactic market that Vala is a part of.. why so many humans? werent most humans illiterate slaves? why wouldnt the other races in the galaxy exploid the powervacuum? anyways.. a great apisode.. albeit.. i will only complain that i dont reallly like the LA plot that much. other than that, it was very clever and well acted.

Avlin Ærbødig

Same, sort of. "Company of Thieves" I recognize as an LA episode, but I mix it up w one from last season - where the gates start to disappear and Cam calls Carter Mary Poppins. Cam pretending to be someone else at a LA feast I know is a different episode, but I wouldn't have connected it to the one where that captain was shot to get Carter to cooperate. The one with the disappearing gates involves Ba'al and the Trust...on a first watch, I can totally understand the mix-up of the Trust and the Lucian Alliance commandeering goa'uld motherships.

Stef Furness

All these years I never made that connection

Timothy Nikiforovs

I.. think he might? lol. I'm not sure if he figured out they weren't by the end of this episode or not, but I wasn't under the impression he thought they were goa'uld until he told Daniel to put his goa'uld voice on, lol.. I figured he knew they were just regular ol' humans. I mean, they've explained who they are.

Lady Beyond The Wall

Does Fail think the LA are Goa'uld? 😅🤣😂😭😭😭

Side note for astute Buffy fans, the main bad guy with Sam is Dracula from the first ep of S5. It's very hard for me to hear the actors lines and not hear them in the Dracula accent 😆

SpikesEcho

A lot of eps in S9/10 blend together for me, this is one that does that.
