I just realized something new as I was watching your reaction tonight to "As You Were" - typically not one of my favs of Season 6 but I noticed a line that Buffy says. Around 35 minutes (in your video) she says "these things, never useful" about the gun. Which is similar something she said in 6x4 - when the security guard shot the gun while the bank was being robbed, Buffy picks up the gun and says "these things, never helpful." - it just crazy to see how it foreshadows the gun use in "Seeing Red."

Ok, watched Ep 16, yeah not much else to say that you didn't cover. We are split on how to feel here, on one hand we should be mad at Xander, on the other hand he's had these fears all along, but now they've been realized visually. I guess though, that I would say, they should have at least tried to give it a chance, the marriage that is. Knowing what he knows now he'd be in a better position to make sure things don't turn out badly in the marriage. It is not guaranteed they'd have a bad marriage, better to try, and try and make it work. It takes work to make it work, but I think they both have the capacity for that.

Was finally able to sit down and watch your reactions, first my thoughts on Ep 15. Yes, at the end this is Buffy finally truly getting 'out of the fog' to speak. This is the first moment where it truly feels like she's fully out of the fog from being brought back to life. Buffy WAS just using Spike, using him to feel something, a distraction. She finally hit the last of the grief stage of coming back to life, and has realized she can never love him, he's still a Vampire without a Soul, and she had forgotten that. She was using him straight up, to feel better about herself. But now she's come to that realization, and it took that visit from Riley to kick her in the teeth about it all. She is finally moving on, and moving on with life, she has realized she doesn't need Spike to feel better now. So at the end, yes she is truly breaking up with Spike and coming to some harsh realizations about what she's been doing, so this is a positive thing for her, it's momentum moving forward in her life now. She's finally at peace with being alive again. Now on to the next ep, going to watch it now.

I really wasn't expecting to like As You Were very much, but it's better than I remember. First off, once again demonstrating how soul sucking fast food jobs can be. I hated those first could years at the bottom of the proverbial food chain. Seeing friends move on to bigger and better and less menial careers(or straight up start in them), making you feel left behind. Few things make you feel more like a loser. In Buffy's case, it's even worse, since she was in college(as whatshisface so callously pointed out) and seemed to have a fairly bright future ahead, on top of being a superhero. Then here comes Riley doing better than ever, seeing how far she's fallen, not just in job prospects but in her romantic life as well. I know how she feels. Riley showing up is the last thing she needed, because when you feel like everyone else is doing better than you, you really don't want them to be around to see you like that. Still, a couple things do save the episode for me. First, they did make the threat large enough to warrant Riley seeking her out for help. Second, there was a much better reconciliation between them at the end than I remembered. He didn't judge her for winding up in a menial job, and he didn't even judge her for sleeping with Spike. On top of that he still told her she was just in a bad spot for now, and that she'll find her way out of it. I'm sure he remembers he was at a rather low point himself when last they parted ways. Honestly very mature of him. Overall while the experience might not have been the greatest time for Buffy but it did give Riley and the whole gang some much needed closure after Into The Woods. Also Willow all smiles and waving, then out of nowhere "what a bitch".🤣 As for Hell's Bells, you pretty well said everything I was thinking about it in the outro. Sad to see, especially since they've been the stable ones, but I get Xander looking at his family and wondering if he's just going to become more of the same as he gets older. Interesting that Anya got offered up her old job. Guess D'Hoffryn felt she was feeling motivated now.
