Yeah, im not a fan of the Farscape-y outfits and aliens this ep. Also, I've always been a tad bothered by the personality Vala brings out of Daniel. Not a big fan of it, tho I absolutely love her.

2022-05-22 18:22:57 +0000 UTCna the bad blood was a result of Christopher Judge screwing MS over during the development of their script Rage Of Angels (which ended up never getting made.) Theres plenty of information on the net if you google the keywords.
2022-04-17 06:21:40 +0000 UTCYa, feels like this episode is kinda filler although it had some important overarching stuff to do, namely introducing the Lucian Alliance and also the formal start of international oversight of the SGC. It's fun and enjoyable and I would never skip it but it probably isn't a standout for Season 9. Still not a bad episode imo!

2022-04-08 05:59:40 +0000 UTCOh yeah, I remember that Rage of Angels thing, I was so hyped about it at the time, but completely forgot about it.

2022-04-04 13:36:41 +0000 UTCEveryone I've heard talk about Michael Shanks as a person has said he's an asshole and kind of miserable to be around. The bad blood between those guys is probably related to the fact that everyone seems to find Michael tough to deal with. The character he plays is great though. 10/10.

2022-04-04 03:16:15 +0000 UTCInago "This once belonged to the first prime of Bastet. It's completely unique. One of a kind." Also Inago "Two for five!!" Yeah, this really isn't any kind of a particular standout. It's not bad, but it's filler. They kind of put the ori (mostly) on ice and just had a little side adventure with Vala. This is kind of a sequel to Prometheus Unbound, especially with Jup and Tenat showing up again from that episode. In video game terms, this episode is like when you stop doing the main story and spend an hour doing a string of side quests. And now we've got this Lucien Alliance in play. New faction rising up from the fall of the system lords. A few al'kesh is hardly a substantial force, but who knows what other resources they have. Got to keep an eye on them. I also love how at this point in the show, Daniel is just done. He spent 7 years struggling to get Jack to see things his way, which could be like pulling teeth at times. People keep killing him. The ancients/ascended are such obstinate bastards that not once but twice he's given up immortality and the knowledge of the universe because he didn't want to deal with their bullshit. Now he just wants to go to Atlantis and nobody will let him. Then along comes Vala and she just pushes him over the edge. Asshole Jackson is unleashed.............and I love it. I mean sure it was kind of mean, but I do love how he gave her a set of instructions just as a roundabout way to say "be quiet and let me concentrate". It's understandable though, she really does push his buttons. It's a fun enough episode, but not super memorable. SGA is the better ep this week.

2022-04-03 16:38:43 +0000 UTCShanks is......focused. Even RDA said he was the most devoted actor on set. That naturally will led to a degree of shall we say prickliness. From the sound of it though, this one was fully on Judge.

2022-04-03 15:51:28 +0000 UTCJust watched the reaction, thank you. I've never heard that Chris Judge and Micheal Shanks had any bad blood after the show? That's news to me, if true. /shrug. As for the other bits, yes the rings have always worked that way, we saw it in the Movie, so from the movie on, yes, they can do that. Finally, I think that was a Farscape gun replica or prop for this episode, an inside joke, and I loved it. Vala was feeling very Aeryn in that scene. Oh, and you have seen those aliens at the end, before, they are the same aliens that was in the ep where we were introduced to Vala when she stole the ship. This episode is a good episode that shows the kind of character Vala is, it sets up her backstory quite nice, so we get to learn what kind of a person she is. Now we know what she's like. Her interactions with Daniel steal the show. Looking forward to the next.

2022-04-02 19:45:53 +0000 UTCI absolutely love seeing the show experiment with new things. You can tell how comfortable they are doing it at this point. This episode reminds me a lot of the Space Race one-- in a good way! They managed to squeeze in quite a lot of world-building as well

2022-04-02 19:44:19 +0000 UTC@Timothy that's what I've heard as well. They used to be really good friends but it seems to have fallen through. That being said I've heard Shanks is notoriously difficult so I'm giving Judge the benefit of the doubt in this case

2022-04-02 18:54:45 +0000 UTCThe short version is, they went into business together after Stargate, and things went sour.
Ugly Pig
2022-04-02 18:08:23 +0000 UTCNeither has been super vocal about what happened, but there's a reason they haven't done a convention together for the past decade or so. They were both going to start a production company work on a show called Rage of Angels together. I Think it was set to be on Starz, but they felt having Judge and Shanks would be too reminiscent of SG1. Judge apparently agreed to cut Shanks out of the project without consultation, and the rest is history, along with their friendship.

2022-04-02 16:38:22 +0000 UTCAs far as I'm aware they're pretty good friends. There was some rumours a while back, but I think they got squashed. Who knows though. I think sometimes it's nice for us to think of the friends in shows to be friends with each other outside of those shows, but it's like any work relationship, it's easy to keep up while you're working together, but harder when you're off doing different projects and possibly living in different areas.

2022-04-02 08:27:32 +0000 UTCMore recently he's been in Young Sheldon. He's Sheldon's somewhat absent minded Mentor.
James Yancy
2022-04-02 07:05:25 +0000 UTCThe actor is Wallace Shawn, he's been in a million things. But I think he's most well known as Vizzini from The Princess Bride, with some of his most popular scenes available on youtube. "Inconceivable!"
