Yeah... I've always had a problem with "Dad." It just seems like a ham fisted transition episode. Not very well conceived or executed. I get why Holtz wants a team... it's just how he's always operated... but the character of Justine is kind of lame. The multitude of people coming after Angel and fam just seems like a lazy distraction... and the resolution? Why the F does Linwood care what Angel does to him when the Senior Partners will likely do much worse? Yeah... Linwood is a terrible character. One of my least favorite episodes in season 3

2022-02-18 10:11:01 +0000 UTCLullaby is such a powerful episode. Darla is arguably one of the most vicious and ruthless vampire characters in the Buffyverse. Spike was always in it for the chaos and passion, Dru was just insane, The Master was too political I guess you could say. Angelus would certainly be in the running for most evil, but I think Darla being his mentor and being a vampire much longer edges him out. With that in mind, seeing her turnaround in this episode is unexpected but very well played. Her final words and actions in that alleyway make her death one of the most striking and memorable in the franchise. It's also pretty surprising Holtz has managed to kill almost 400 vampires being a normal human(and granted, he did have people working for him). Buffy has killed maybe 150 onscreen at this point. To be fair, she's also taken out a bunch of demons, and it's likely that off screen she has many kills we don't know about, but she is the slayer. Holtz is just a regular human, though clearly an industrious one. Props to Angel though for stepping up to be a dad, but he does need to learn how to accept help. Having a baby running around is certainly going to complicate things, and he's going to need to trust his friends to be there for Connor. Lastly I love the humor in these shows. "I got mouths to feed, and a family. Some of them got mouths too"🤣. Gotta love the blue collar demons. Just realized too, we're pretty much at the halfway point of the show.
