UNEDITED EXCLUSIVE: Doctor Who Season 13 Episode 6 "The Vanquishers" REACTION!

OK let's be fair and reasonable. Restrictions could have played a part in why this turned out to be a huge dumpster fire of a mess. Now that placating caveat us out of the way. I'm sorry, but that being said... There's a well established trend already been set here. In that sticking the ending of a vast number of stories and or episodes has been a very consistent problem since series 11. So no, absolutely no. Sorry but I can't blame too much of this unfathomable mess on that particular unavoidable obstacle. It just focuses the lens on the incontrovertible truth. The writing for the past 3 series has been generally subpar with a sprinkling of moments that make you go. "Oh that wasn't too bad, I quite liked that." Thanks for your honest take as always bud. It saddens me that I first got into DW reactions with you; you were the very first of then many. Simply because the quality had fallen off a cliff so swiftly. I felt I needed to regain my enjoyment for the show. But doing this through someone else's eyes. The blessings is now I'm enjoying other things that I love with you and others. So clouds with silver linings and all. 🙏🏻 I just hope we'll both be able to come full circle with this show at some point. 🤞🏻

I like that they put it up on there youtube I told my friend who hasn't seen any of the flux about the doctor who youtube channel and he went there too see it first and then he watched it after word on amc+ on bbc america its a good way for people that have not seen the flux too get a first glance at the new show!

nice thanks for doing the last episode of the flux I like this flux series . In that I give props too doctor who creators for trying out a shorter like mini season of the show instead of a longer regular season I see alot of other shows like originals from netflix amazon prime, hulu originals and disney plus trying out seasons with 6 or 7 episodes so it was nice too see doctor who show in that way since I only have seen all seasons in full length version way ! happy holidays all!

The doctor who youtube channel put out "The Flux: Story Breakdown" not that it does us any good. Doesnt clear up anything and if anything just shows how they thought they had a good idea while the fans have a cloud of question marks over their heads.

This was a difficult reaction to watch, just seeing the moments of disappointment growing and building to the end. But it absolutely mirrored my own reaction when I first watched it. I enjoyed the first 3 episodes of Flux, but by the end of episode 4 I started to get this sense of dread that the whole story would not be resolved in any kind of satisfying way. I didn't even bother avoiding spoilers after that, and actually sought out some reviews just to brace myself for what was coming. Such an unsatisfying mess. There were lots of cool visuals at least.

Did they ever explain why swarm looks different at the start of Flux? I took that as he was drained from having been in prison for so long and not able to feed but after he changed I expected it to be a steady evolution over the series but nope.... He just changed once and them Time shows up at the end and looks just like Swarms current form. Also Azure was kinda in a different type of prison forced to live as a human but seemingly had a division operative there "guarding" her but then when that beacon shows up she destroys it and her husband guy was just like "ok"

So this is the 2nd reactor I've watched with and only watched it once myself before hand. Am I the only one who thinks this gets worse and worse with each rewatch? Like every scene, every line just seems more and more messy each time around. As much as I disliked most of the early Chibnall run at least its consistent. Perhaps because this had so much build up that it just makes this whole episode feel worse and worse knowing how its failing on almost every level.

When you go to post a long comment and then patreon goes down so its lost... GG We got rid of Ryan and Graham but kept Yaz. Everyone thought finally we can get more character development for Yaz yet no.... We now Get Dan, Karvanista, Dan, Claire, Jericho, Vinder, Bel.... Sorry Yaz. And in 6 episodes I feel like they made a much better character in Bel than they have done developing Yaz in 3 seasons. And now we are supposed to accept that that the flux never happened? except what happened in Earths orbit because we cemented the loss of the Lupari which then implies all the enemy fleets are also destroyed. When the master was trying to overwhelm the doctor with an identity crisis do to her being timelord jesus, Ruth talked her out of it being "accept you for you, the past doesnt matter" then this whole Flux arch has been about getting her memories back just for her to be like "NAH, im good, i accept me for me" Basically I feel like the fobwatch is Chibnalls cheap way of being like "I created this huge mess and i dont know how to fix it, but I setup this fobwatch so a better writer can come along later and try and clean up after me" And yea Flux was supposed to have more episodes and was also filmed in 2 different blocks so basically once the first set of episodes was done if they wrote themselves into a corner on some things they kinda had to run with it. So giving them a little bit a credit doing to work under tighter constraints due to covid but honestly networks should be allowing delays for this kinda thing rather than rushing out sloppy content. Spyfall part1 was a pretty decent Chibnall episode but part2 flopped for me. I still think Flux had potential but as it went on we just added too much stuff. Having little bits of world building in each who episode is fine but I think some people are using this as an excuse as to why the Flux didnt tie everything up. But Each episodic episode of who has a conclusion. They made a 6 part story just to be like oh we will finish the story later..... Then why make it 6 parts. Thats now how it works.

Hi Failwhale. I didnt like this episode as well. I think all the performances was great but its just the writing that was awful and it is and always will be my favorite show. I am pretty sure this series was ment to be 10 episodes long. But because of the pandemic it was cut to 6. Thats why a lot of the characters in this story were separated, because of guidelines. It just felt like Chibs wanted every idea he had in this final story. I understand the reaction.
