lmao same, watched this show so many times ive lost count. Never noticed that.

Colton Matthews

Happened last month too. MisturSmith on the discord was telling he what tends to cause that. Still, his subs have been growing a fair bit this past month, so I expect most of those will come back over the next week or so.

Timothy Nikiforovs

Most people pay for just a month, or month by month, and don't have it auto-renew, so at the end of each month, you'll see a big drop off for those subscribers, until they renew again. It could also be legitimate subscribers who have just decided to cancel, and thus at the end of the month, their subs ran out. Either way, the fluctuations make you think about what you are doing if you rely on the income.

Brent Justice

Woah, it looks like a lot of people bounced this month. It's down to 588 Patrons atm, unless that's some sort of glitch, that's almost 200 people in like.. a day. That's crazy. Hopefully they'll come back next month if he sorts whatever's going on out! It's December though so maybe some people are saving money for Christmas? I hope so. 😬

Lady Beyond The Wall

It get frustrating sometimes, but we don't know what's going on behind the scenes. Customer service jobs, which this basically is, are tough as well because you always have to keep a cheerful face on and your energy up. On the other hand as a watcher, I wouldn't want him to do reactions when he's not feeling up to it because the quality suffers.

Teth

He could make a killing if he treated this like a job, rather than a hobby. But I guess right now "it's good enough" considering what he's making right now off this doing the level of work he's doing. But he has so much potential to really make a great reaction channel like Blind Wave, as an example, if he wanted to treat this like a real job, he's got the groundwork done, and that's the hardest part.

Brent Justice

Were always making excused for him though Timothy its getting kind of old.... Oh he didnt upload for a week and a half.....well it was his birthday... so he celebrates his birthday for an entire week? oh its canadian thanksgiving, its american thanksgiving, its boxing day, it rained today, it snowed today. Hes either got a new video game hes addicted to.. or is just depressed and sleeping all the time? I work 60 hours a week and consume at least 80 hours of one form of media or another between reactions and tv and movies i watch alone. From our perspective hes barely even putting in 10 hours a week if that. And if we assume most people are on the $10 tier thats $7660 a month and hes still living with his parents so his bank accounts gotta be swelling. I know seeing financial growth in my bank accounts was always motivation to keep going.

Magus

Yea, Ive tried to be patient as well but its getting to be too frequent.. Its not like hes busy editing youtube uploads or anything either since hes only done a movie trailer reaction there 2 weeks ago and no tv episodes in 3 weeks. So basically what does he even do all day? Seems like hes either lacking motivation or extremely distracted by something else. If he wants to do this full time he needs to set working hours for himself and try to stick to a schedule even if he doesnt post what that schedule is. Perhaps try to slow down in the post episode thoughts and just upload true uncut videos so he doesnt have to put in as much effort on that. Essentially every upload we get he edits the intro and outro the way he wants it for youtube then exports that for patreon then trims it down for the youtube version later

Magus

Yes, he is behind on everything, which does happen a lot. I also support him, I pay the highest tier, and I will continue to as long as he provides the reactions I want to see, but I do have my limits, when/if that stops, and if I'm not getting what I feel I am paying for, then I will stop.

Brent Justice

He's behind on everything, which unfortunately is a common occurrence. I'm not complaining, but you do think with all the money he's making he'd make it a priority in his life. If this was my primary source of income, and I was making as much as him, I'd make sure to treat it like a job, rather than a hobby.

Brent Justice

thanks for getting out sg1 and atlantis and xfiles angel and merlin and also doctor who. in the message you sent out 6 days ago it also said office and farscape was coming out but we still have not seen office or buffy or farscape in 6 days just checking in on when we will get those 3 shows? thanks A failwhale supporter !

Paul Carroll

I suppose it should be considered that Christmas is only a few weeks away, and shopping and prep, spending time with friends can be time consuming. Hopefully the uploads pick up in the new year

Timothy Nikiforovs

Its hard to find time to record and edit when its your full time job. especially if you only put in 8 hours a day 5 days a week

Magus

He's late on every show basically, par for the course

Brent Justice

ugh...

angelcakes

I guess not

Timothy Nikiforovs

are we getting Angel before the new month begins??

angelcakes

McKay definitely is in the forefront this episode, and it's great to see the guy step up and do something genuinely brave(especially after Ford turned into Mr. Medium Rare). Everyone will get their chance to shine, but Hide and Seek was Rodney's turn. SGA definitely has a stronger first season than SG1, which seems obvious since it's the same production team with 7 years of stargate behind them. Still there are growing pains and like most shows it doesn't truly come into it's own until a bit later, at least as far as the characters go. I find the first 1/4 or so of S1 is kind of "meh" apart from Rising and the next episode, but it picks up steam fast after that. This is also something of an expository episode to get us familiar with the city and show us some of it's features(now I sound like Joerg Sprave). And yes, Atlantis is easily one of the biggest bases of operation in any show. I believe it's around 5km across, so it's huge. The engineering to make it fly must be ridiculous.

Timothy Nikiforovs

...I can't believe I never realized that was a pegasus on the Atlantis symbol after this many years

Teth

Ah yes we all know who that is

ANIMEMUSE

The personal shield was a good idea, makes sense, the Goa'uld have one, but this one seems better. Still, too bad we've only seen that one, and it's drained. And don't know if you caught on, but the transporter "closets" actually have a dual purpose, they can flat out transport you like Asgard beaming, and also act as elevators. So that is the first sign we have seen that Ancients have beam transporters too. And of course, they made the ring platforms also, so they were definitely big innovators on transportation types. Also, notice that dark energy luring device has Goa'uld like design lines on it on the handles, indicating that it must have been the Ancients that came up with that design language first, and the Goa'uld copied or stole it into their technology. Also, that device kinda looks like the device that they found in SG-1 that let everyone see those dimensional bugs. The devices are probably related since it dealt with extra-dimensional beings.

Brent Justice

There's another character I would say is the "Teal'c" but I can't say who yet.

Brent Justice

To Faily's point that Teyla is the Teal'c character. I would argue that Teyla is a mix of Daniel and Teal'c's characters, mixing the "alien warrior" archetype and lack of earth pop culture knowledge of Teal'c with the diplomatic and more sensitive aspects of Daniel's character; whereas McKay is a mix of Sam and Daniel, mixing Sam's scientific brilliance with Daniel's snarkiness and comic timing.

Emptysea93

I would think rather than having to word of mouth the movies they would have brought a digital copy of entertainment. People need stuff to do in their down time. Like even now when we eventually colonize mars I would imagine they would be allowed to bring a data base with all music and movies etc. Not like they would be able to just stream netflix out there.

Magus

I also really like Weir's voice. Calm and steady, but at the same time if she gives you an order? You FOLLOW it or face the consequences. I don't say this lightly, but when it comes to Stargate leaders, Weir is up there with Hammond for me. I also can't believe how quickly I turned around on McKay. Hated him on SG-1, but Rising and this episode really showed how much depth his character could have.

Geonn Cannon

Hahah not the greatest episode of SGA, except for all the personal shield/McKay lines hahah

brad hawkes

yayyy! new ep. lovin it! it is so refreshing to watch there reactions instead of a regular rewatch. feels like i got an other person to share the show with for the first time lol. lovely.
