2021-11-29 11:00:21 +0000 UTCIt's one of my favourite aspects of Scully. There's such a strong dichotomy between her scientific scepticism and faith. Mulder does ask her mom about it when she's missing. Even Beyond the Sea which is probably Scully's most significant experience with the unexplained, has some religious symbolism.

2021-11-29 10:10:33 +0000 UTCThanks for the reaction! A well-written and well-shot episode, loved it, and you are right, so far this is the most "religious" we've seen Scully. Remembering back on my original watch of this on TV, I don't think I picked up just how much she was religious, I don't remember it like that, I always thought of her as the hard-hitting no-believer one, but this episode flipped that script between them, which was interesting to see.
