I have to say that this series really does have a classic feel to it. It goes beyond the multi-episode format, but I can't quite put my finger on it. There's a couple of theories on who Vinder and Bel are, but if true they will be pretty spoilery so I won't go into that. As for who the old lady was there's also a theory that I think isn't really a big spoiler if true. Its something that harks back to classic who. If you aren't interested in hearing it then stop right here. The biggest theory I've seen is that the older lady in white is possibly the white guardian from the classic days. An alternative theory is she is actually the black guardian (from the same storyline) disguised as the white guardian. Interesting theory and it think it would be fun if true.

They would do well to never fully address it or they will enrage the fandom. lol They can hint at it or keep it open ended, but if they fully say yes this is canon, people will lose it. Personally I like that they're daring enough to create new back stories and information, I'm here for it either way. But I know long time fans, especially of Classic Who seem to freak out about changes (Even though the show has ALWAYS been about changes.)

2021-11-26 05:39:02 +0000 UTCI agree with you, I'm loving the back stories we're getting and the way they're being set up and they definitely have the ability in this age to make it look awesome. For me, this series right here is the best of Jodie and Chibnall over all. I have enjoyed episodes from each of their seasons/series but this one I have so far enjoyed the most. I think Chibnall does well with these epic Classic Who style serials instead of self contained single episodes. Though I like both styles, I do think he does best at this type.

The “I wonder if he looks different” part might have been a clue, or just a one off line haha. Another cool thing is the outro music after episode 4 is missing the doctors two heartbeats if you re-listen.
