Just watched your episode 18 reaction, thank you. About the ending, I think it works perfectly. Buffy acknowledges that what Spike did for her and Dawn (i.e. not giveaway Dawn, basically willing to die before revealing who she is) is powerful, for the first time Buffy recognizes something good in spike that he did. That act is more powerful than anything Spike was trying to do before to get her, that was real, that was a real act that had meaning, he was willing to sacrifice himself basically. And he did it cause he knew if he revealed the info, it would hurt her. That's the first time spike has acted, well, human. Though he doesn't have a soul, he at least acted like he had one for the first time. It's hard to put the whole thing into text and explain it well, but that's the gist of it, it's the act he performed, for the first time, being genuine, unlike all the other times before now. It's a big turning point for Spike. And just keep in mind, he doesn't have a soul, so he really is a monster, so the sex doll thing makes sense, cause he doesn't have a soul. So in the Desert, we learn that "Death is your gift" well that could mean anything, I mean you can take it literally, or metaphorically, so I wonder what the meaning really is, but there you go, Death is your Gift.

Just watched your episode 17 reaction, thank you. This is such a powerful episode, what Dawn and Buffy needed to do most was grieve, they hadn't yet really, so it took this to spark the grieving process so they could both break down with each other, perfectly timed. Dawn finally got it at the end, and broke the connection, their mother was gone, best not to tamper with life and death. They have now both accepted it, and now they can begin to heal and grow from here. I also enjoyed seeing a more Dawn'centric episode, she's maturing more and more as the season goes, she was a pretty big brat at first, but is getting better. Oh, I also want to say, Willow is getting very very reckless lately, making some pretty bad or poor magical decisions. She's starting to scare me. Moving on to episode 18.....

The end of Forever where it’s Dawn comforting Buffy, telling her it’s Ok, is heartbreaking

Buffy went into his crypt thinking he was maybe an enemy and left thinking he was, if not quite a friend, then at least someone she could count on

"The who whatting how with huh"🀣 If nothing else, the Buffybot at least gave SMG something less depressing to act. Honestly Buffy is showing a lot of maturity at the start of Intervention. I appreciate the acknowledgement that she was distant from Riley, and she's realizing what her job is doing to her mental state, which is healthy. In a lot of ways it's much like what happens when soldiers return home from being deployed and have trouble reintegrating into the civilian world. Most people don't even seem to know about demons and vampires, and that's practically her whole existence at times. Of course it's going to make her feel apart from people. The First Slayer seems a little demystified in this encounter, with speaking directly to Buffy, though I'm not sure it helped her. Saying "death is her gift" is pretty ominous, and rather vague. Have to see whether the encounter helps her or if she just has to figure it out on her own. Spike at least found a measure of redemption. I mean the cringe with his stalker behaviour reached an all time high here, but he also displayed a degree of, well, I guess nobility is the word. Loyalty at least. Glad Buffy looked past her entirely understandable disgust to recognize what he was willing to sacrifice for her and Dawn. The Buffybot raises some interesting ideas though. We've seen that these robots are rather strong, despite being designed for...........other things, than fighting. Steeped in tradition as they are, I doubt they'd go for it, but imagine the Watcher's council hired Warren to build an army of slayer bots. With the right programming and some sturdier construction & armour over the electronics, they might be a formidable tool against vampires and demons. Perhaps not as good as a real slayer, but you could have a lot more than one. Warren could make millions off that deal. Also Anya raises a good point. Shouldn't they have guns? I mean hey, it's America. Wait, California, nevermind.

It kills me when Buffy runs to the door at the end. The song that Giles listens to is the same song he and Joyce listened to in Band Candy. πŸ˜₯

Buffy's "who's going to take care of us" breakdown always gets me. That's the real hard part of losing someone, when you stop having things to do and start having time to think. Good of Angel to show up. He and Buffy didn't exactly meet up on the most amicable terms the last couple times. I still Think he was in the right after the whole Faith thing, but at least he's put it in the past.

"No, SHE's a robot!" πŸ˜‰πŸ˜

I don't know if you've ever seen Dirty Dancing (classic). The guy who plays Doc in the first episode (Joel Grey) is the lead actresses, (Jennifer Grey) father. She played the iconic, Baby. He's well known in the theater world and is also well known in film starring alongside Liza Minnelli in Cabaret.

The robot was not real, what he did for her and dawn was. That's the mind set she has, she knows what he is, anfld the fact he made the buffy bot isn't that big of a surprise, but the fact he was willing to die for them is. She had no doubt in her mind Spike would sell them out, to find out he chose torture over giving up dawn speaks volumes.

Two Buffy's! I'm so happy, TY.
