But it's a good question, is he really though, the chip is holding him back, but could it also make him change even if he doesn't have a soul? Is it real? Or is it just actions. The door is open for so many things to happen, in many directions here, so it will be interesting to see that. Always love a Dru appearance, she has such an aura about her.

But when they really go in on his background/motivations, like in Fool For Love and here, they have so much to pull from and can produce great moments. FFL is top tier for me, Crush isn't as good (to me), and David Fury isn't my favorite writer for Spike, but it's important for Spike to move on from his past. It's a strange time, you're right, where can he go from here if Buffy and the gang want nothing to do with him? On we go with the rest of the season....
