Just watched your reaction, thank you. I love this episode because it deals with real-world science, and integrates that into a neat scifi premise. BTW, the actor here is Tony Shalhoub, a well known actor, has been in many many good things, Men in Black, Monk, Galaxy Quest, Wings, I first saw him on Wings, and then have seen him pop up in so many things since then.

2021-08-29 03:26:16 +0000 UTCWhen I watched this episode as a kid, I didn't understand its premise. I thought that they guy's shadow opens up some kind of wormhole that victims are sucked into. I imagined these victims were falling for eternity in a "dark matter space". Kinda like Loki :))

He used family contacts to get a script to Chris Carter, who liked the script enough to hire the young man. Eventually he wrote 30 episodes of the show. When it was done, he went on to create his own show. The writer was Vince Gilligan, and the show was Breaking Bad.
