I feel like this episode shows both Arthur and Merlin maturing. Arthur is willing to put aside his pride for the longterm good of the kingdom, recognising that even if he disagrees it's not about him. Merlin moved into a more confident mentoring role. But, he also didn't overthink his decision, he recognised he had to make a hard choice and didn't look for a way out, he stepped up- again for the good of the magic community as a whole. Both Arthur and Merlin matured into leaders in this episode.

2021-08-25 21:55:40 +0000 UTCOK, when Arthur lays out the guy with the 2 scimitars with 1 effortless punch, that feels like a definite reference to the scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark where Indiana Jones shoots the guy with the sword. ROFL, I started laughing same time as you did when Uther said Arthur is ready to be king. Morgana seemed like such a sweet girl at the start of the series and now I watch just to see her plans foiled. Glad the kid not only lived but learned from the experience. Uther was being a much bigger prick than usual, but even he went for the wholesome moment at the end there.

It’s ironically the muggle Dudley Dursley finally with some magic of his own. The actor has really come in to his own recently. I think he was in Queens Gambit.
