2021-07-22 21:59:40 +0000 UTCI like that this was all setup before, we just couldn't connect the dots till now! It shows they are thinking ahead and really planning out the seasons. I know you said Buffy hasn't evolved much, but I really do beg to differ. Especially this season she has made huge steps forward in her progression in many ways, for one, finally taking the Slayer thing seriously and wanting to be better and know more. It seems like she is more grounded now, and has a plan for her life, where she was just kind of floating along previously. I think she's grown a lot. And I also forsee her growing so much more over time.

It just exudes such warmth in a way that I feel many shows can't get right without coming across too schmaltzy or forced. I usually *hate* the whole 'family' thing, but we've seen these characters go through so much together over the past five years, without strong connections to their own relatives (Buffy excluded). They've earned it!

2021-07-22 15:21:47 +0000 UTCI love how they set this story up in the last season - when we 1st meet Tara she stutters a lot more, covers her face when she smiles etc - all signs of the abusive background and being made to feel less than. Then the scene where she ruins the demon locator spell - I like it when they play the long game with stories.
