All I can say is what a journey. I've heard about this show for years but never in a million years would I have guessed all the twists and surprises. Quite possibly the most intricately crafted show I've ever watched. I'm glad they actually laid it out for us in the finale so we can walk away understanding most of what actually happened. I called it on the other reality still being in Elliot's head though. I think the ending was really beautiful as well. It's such a selfless thing for that personality to surrender himself to oblivion(which reminds me, when Darlene said "you're finally awake", I couldn't help but think of that Skyrim meme) so the real Eliot can get back to living his life. Even though he failed to quite make the world the better place the real Elliot wanted(he still had abusive parents, Angela and his friends are still dead, etc...), he still did at least topple the ones who were keeping everyone else down, and it's better than being locked in a fancy prison. He just wanted to see Darlene one last time, and say goodbye before fading away. Really amazing series. I see why people say they notice new things every time.

When asked during an interview, the actor who plays Wellick said he talked with Sam Esmail about the light and got no answer. Fan theory is that it was a "Blue Screen of Death".

What was it that Wellick saw in the woods before he died? wasnt there some kind of light?

Wow! What an excellent journey we have all been through! I have really appreciated your reactions all the way through, and I'm glad you found the finale satisfying. When M83 kicks in at the end it's just perfect. The mental health aspect of this show is really well done, Sam Esmail is just a genius. It's great that it ended of with a really nice, positive message, after some really dark moments in the prior episodes. I love that at the end, it's essentially saying "that was Mr Robot, now go and live the rest of your life", as in "It only works if you let go too" and it ending just when the real Elliot wakes up. Truly amazing. Thank you and see you around!

I've fallen behind on watching the reactions and still have all of season 4 to go but I'm so glad to see you've made it to the end and I look forward to seeing the reactions!

Thanks so much for a beautiful reaction (I know it sounds dumb but my pet peeve is when reactors feel the need to talk through quieter moments to fill the silence) and thanks for watching the show even though it didn't win the poll all those months ago! It is one of only two shows that I would class as being perfect - the other being Buffy. I have no idea how Sam Esmail managed to create a show that continuously subverts expectations whilst also being clearly thought-out and planned ahead. I just wish more viewers would've stuck around to watch - it's insane to me that only the first season got any significant buzz.

Thankyou for the journey, I enjoyed watching one of my all time favourite shows with you! Thanks for everything! See you around, old Faily!

Awesome reaction to an awesome series finale. I've rewatched this series five times now and I notice something new each time. Fun fact: Sam Esmail originally intended for this to be a movie, but he thought it would be better as a series instead, which is why hints to the big reveal about "Mastermind" Elliot were sprinkled in since the beginning. Another thing that I loved was how this entire series took place in 2015. Though we don't know how long Elliot was knocked out after the explosion in episode 4x11, the series took place in one year, with each season occuring in a different season of that year (season one was in the spring, season two was in the summer, season three was in the fall and season four was in the winter). I'm not sure if that was Sam's intention (though I wouldn't be surprised if it was), but that just added to the brillance of this series for me. Definitely at the top for one of the best series of all time imo.
