2021-04-24 02:49:44 +0000 UTCI always thought maybe the Painted Lady was the spirit of the river and she couldn't manifest due to the fact that it was so severely polluted. I like both these eps, but you can definitely feel the lower involvement of Iroh and Zuko, imo. However, even with that considered, I loved Sokka's "Everyman" storyline.

He just got serious and probably just returned himself to his earlier physique when he was a younger man. General or not, he had a reputation as a powerful fighter individually.

2021-04-23 21:43:58 +0000 UTCIroh is getting his Dark Knight Rises on, and I'm here for it. I man can only be deprived of his tea for so long. But really, how the hell did he get in shape THAT fast? 2 pretty good episodes overall. I preferred the second because Sokka needed a win(though the "smoke show" at the end of ep3 was great). Everyone else has been getting more powerful and he's been left behind. He learned his lessons, upgraded his gear, and found his confidence. Incidentally, the sword master was voiced by Robert Patrick. I also like that he didn't care that Sokka was water tribe. 2 other things I've been noticing. In the past 12-15 episodes, water bending has been getting pretty OP. I used to think it was the weakest of the 4, but I'm really having to reexamine that now. Also, with all these hybrid animals in the show(lion-turtles I think it was this ep), do we ever see their regular counterparts? Do we ever see a regular lion or turtle, or are the animals in the world of avatar named after 2 other animals that DON'T exist in that world? Just something that bugs me.

2021-04-23 16:51:43 +0000 UTCThere's an interesting Youtuber theory that the Painted Lady is actually the former Water Tribe Avatar's lover who had her face stolen, and then bonded with the Sea Spirit in a similar way to how Yue bonded with the Moon Spirit, essentially her counterpart. She did have the crescent Moon symbol on her head and visited Katara during a full moon. Further the theory is that her face was painted to replace the one she lost. It's an interesting idea, if nothing else.

2021-04-23 15:02:43 +0000 UTCA good pair of relaxed downtime episodes. I agree with Sokka that they don't have time to stop and help everyone, but I liked the way they resolved the painted lady story, and the second one made me feel all fuzzy inside.
