Absolutely. My suggestion would have been to post here on Patreon first, however, this being the primary form of communication to his patreons, then everyone who is a patreon here would see it, rather than just a few who are on discord. The wider audience is here.

Not really. See here's the thing, having a youtube channel doesn't mean you know how "the system" works, everyone knows how "the system" works, it's a pretty obvious system. People like receiving content, want info when content is not being received. The thing is, Fail's spotted an update, the info has been given, and considering his late update was less than a week ago, in a decent amount of time. So no, I don't then think people coming on here to bitch about how long it took, when the dudes dealing with personal problems that have clearly slowed him down, makes sense. Could he have been faster, maybe, I don't know and neither do you. Maybe he thought he'd be able to sought the problems out before it became an issue, maybe he just didn't want to or wasn't able to share, doesn't matter. I really do not think BreakingRatchet that it is too much to ask for an update, I really don't. I've had a YouTube channel for 8 years now, I know how the system works, and I know that my subscribers like getting updates if I'm away for a while. And not everyone uses Discord, I don't pay money to access Discord, but I do pay money to access Patreon. And I enjoy it, I love his content and his reactions, I check daily multiple times for new videos and chose to pay because I like how he does things. You don't know how excited I am to see him react to Buffy, and Farscape, and Angel, and SG1 and X-Files, these are passion shows for me that I've watched multiple times, and I am so excited every time to see his reaction, I can't wait till he gets to certain episodes to see how he reacts. Believe me, I enjoy what he brings us. I'm not being a square, so please don't call me names, I'm not attacking you or calling you names. I think I've presented myself professionally, and I think I'm making some kind of sense?

Or, if you want the full reactions, there's actually a cheaper tier you can use. OR, if your really a stickler who wants his moneys worth (since apparently having had reactions to TEN shows be interrupted for a week due to the guy having problems means you've been scammed), you could just stop paying for a bit, come back when he's better. If he expects to be charging people for a service on a platform he should be posting on the platform not on discord. Jesus, just because you're good with the guy doesnt make it right. I love the reaction vids but he should atleast take it seriously if he's charging that kinda money.

You should also remember the amount of money he gets paid for doing this. He's not doing this for free. He's making big bucks and a tiny message shouldnt be that hard unless he's dying. Dont blame people for asking for something they're paying for. Most people do the $15 and right now its at 593 subs. So he's cashing in $8895 - tax.. If i got that for putting out some videos i would be over the fuckin moon... going 6 days without a word is actually outrageous so shut the f up.

I know the hurdles, I have had this experience, so I can ask this. I run a gaming youtube channel, and I had an unexpected 18 day stay in the hospital in February this year. There was no warning. After I was well enough, I was able to make a community update on my channel via my phone while I was in the hospital, I just made a quick note that I was in the hospital, didn't know when i'd be out, and that I would resume videos when I could. There's usually a way to make something like that happen. It's not so important for me, cause none of my subscribers pay any money toward me for it. However, for something like Patreon, where we do pay money (I pay the $15 tier) it's important. If people don't feel like they are getting their money's worth, they will pull their subs, and no creator wants that.

It doesn't have to be articulated in detail what is happening. Just a note saying "Having personal issues that is taking up my time, video releases will be slow for several weeks, but I will resume to normal routine when possible" something like that is all that's needed. People will understand.

I don’t know a thing about Michael personally, but I know for me the act of dealing with shit can *include* not warning people something is up: why? Because I’m dealing with shit. Sorry for the rant on your page, Michael. Just wish people would stop erasing their generous ”it’s okay” statements with an immediate demand.

Thank you for the update, I was getting worried. It's ok to take breaks, or have issues that need personal time, absolutely ok. I think though, that said, a quick update if you know something is going to take a while and there won't be videos for a while, is appropriate to your paying patrons. We don't mind that you take time for personal issues, but when there's silence for a while, and we don't hear anything, our brains start to wonder what's going on.
