Love Toph, but of the two of these episodes, Zuko Alone is definitely a standout. One of my favorites of the whole series, honestly. Just with the old western feel spliced along with a chunk of backstory that really lets you see exactly where Zuko came from and how messed up his life was. I understand why the villagers would hate Zuko (even though he did help them) because his family has been persecuting them for years and years now, but I do think they laid that ending on slightly too thick. I would have almost liked for it to be a two-parter or something, but overall I think it's a great episode and really memorable. Loved your reaction. Thank you for doing this show!

But the second episode was by far the better one here. I absolutely love Zuko's arc and seeing where he came from. The guy came from a supremely messed up family but I gotta say, his mom was fantastic. Clearly the only bright spot in his childhood. Also knowing Iroh lost a son while Zuko lost his entire family really explains why they stuck together. I really hope they do team up again and Zuko is just taking some alone time to sort things out. I agree that he will eventually be Aang's teacher and ultimately I feel Zuko might take the throne and end the war. Either way there's gonna have to be a showdown with Azula at some point. That girl needs to be knocked down a peg or 50. Little psychopath. Lastly I get that the fire nation is the enemy and everyone in that village has lost someone to them, but even finding out this lone ranger sort is the exiled prince of the fire nation, he did just run the local mob out of town(there was a flavor of The 7 Samurai there, even if it was just him). Seemed pretty ungrateful on their part to turn on him like that. I kinda get the mom's caution knowing who he is, but the little shit who would have been shipped off to war without him saying he hates him. The disrespect!! I'm hoping he ends up finding the dad later and helping him save his son, and that wins him over with the village. I'm betting this was a one off though.

Trey Moore
2021-02-02 13:38:43 +0000 UTCFun fact: The Boulder was originally planned to be voiced by Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, hence the name, but unfortunately, they couldn't get him for the role. Still, the voice actor they got was hilarious, so in the end, not a huge problem.
