I don’t know why but the last 2 double bobble is cut short. I could only watch 1 hour of the episodes

Evangeline B Walker

Double Bubble..! 👍

I don't want to say too much about ep18 but I'm surprised about all the dislike it's getting. I always liked it.

especially in this case, sacrificing the mission to save Teal'c could essentially ensure the dominance of 1 goa'uld over the rest, which could ultimately cost many millions of lives and ensure the galaxy remains enslaved. At some point you have to consider acceptable losses(which would be a lot more diplomatic than "expandable"). Wars simply can't be won without losses, and if they were willing to abandon such a crucial mission to save just 1 life while indirectly condemning million if not billions more, they've already lost. There is a cold calculus to war that few like to admit to, but most understand to be the reality. Teal'c would gladly sacrifice himself to strike that big a blow to the goa'uld.

The Serpent's Venom is such a pivotal episode in the show. This essentially marks the end of the status quo that has existed for thousands of years with the goa'uld. Ra kept the others in line back in the day, but ever since he died and things destabilized it was only a matter of time before one goa'uld rose above the rest. I also enjoy Rak'nor's journey through this episode and how he was convinced to turn against the goa'uld by Teal'c's complete unwillingness to give in. Also a great ep to show the strength of Teal'c's convictions. I just realized that it makes no sense for Jacob to say "we cant let him get away" when they thought Heru'ur was on the glider. Indeed had it been him they would WANT him to get away. But yeah I can't see old Heru'ur coming back from that blasting. Apophis new super hatak kicks ass, and it comes with not 1, not 2, but 4 throne wenches. Apophis is living large. Lastly for this ep, at the end they agree to meet on the moon of Tichenor, which is named after James Tichenor, the show's VFX supervisor. One of MANY times things and people on the show are named after members of the crew. I completely agree regarding Hammond. The man IS a legend, and episodes that focus on him are unfortunately somewhat rare. Regarding the audio seeming out of whack, it happens from time to time, and there's one scene in the next ep where Carter's dialogue was CLEARLY dubbed over after the fact(and quite badly at that). Usually that only happens in louder environments or outdoors though, so not sure why they would have to do that on the SGC sets. When Teal'c got back from that mission though, the guy's whole demeanor just screamed "fuck you, man". Bauer was such a tool. So glad we didn't have to put up with that for more than 1 episode. Kinsey's wife though, God bless her. She clearly doesn't have a clue, but what a pleasant lady. And you gotta love how this episode highlights the 2 faced nature of politicians. Kinsey goes on about how the solution to America's problems is to "listen to the people", minutes after telling Jack that the overwhelming majority of the American populace sis either lazy or stupid. I also forgot that this was his first reappearance since Politics back in S1, as he was only mentioned between the 2 eps. Maybourne made this episode though, and you're really starting to see that he's not really an enemy of the SGC. In his first couple appearances he definitely was, but starting with Foothold he started to become an unlikely ally, and even in Shades of Grey and Watergate he was just trying to defend Earth in his own way. He and O'Neill just work as a duo. Also I love his tendency to really draw out O'Neill's name("oh, come on, Jaaaaaaacck"), gets me every time. The evolution of Harry's character is one of the better ones on the show IMO. Pretty much the rest of the season is top quality, (except 4x18), though the next episode is my favourite story out of S4, even if it doesn't have the sheer entertainment value of Window of Opportunity.

I like both episodes a lot. I always like it when Jacob is around. Big Fan of the Dynamic he usually brings to the episode. Same for Harry.

Obi Ndefo, good actor. He had quite a few TV roles back around the early 2000s.

Timothy Nikiforovs

Rak'nor! My third favurite jaffa! He's the guy who played the bartender in one of the early Angel episodes. Two good episodes here. I'm always amped to see the jaffa rebellion advance, and Jack and Maybourne make a great comedy duo.

Teth

The doubles always make me so happy

what you were saying about Jacob being ready to sacrifice Teal'c. Jacobs in a tough position. For the Tok'ra the mission always come before the individual. they wouldn't risk one life for the many. Sacrifice is just a hard reality of life for them. But being a US General he also has the mentality of leave no man behind, like Jack. So you're starting to see the give and take of a symbiotic relationship. Jacob is starting to become more like Selmac as Selmac becomes more like jacob.

Jakob

14 is good and I love the conviction Chris Judge brings to the role.15 is one of my all time favorites though. I could do an entire series of o'Neill and Maybourne. As jokey as o'Neill can be it's easy to forget he has some dark shadowy specops past and there is a reason you do not push him too hard.

Whew I was getting worried
