2021-12-07 01:00:39 +0000 UTCDon't know if you noticed if you've ever seen Star Trek The Next Generation, but that woman ( Marina Sirtis) plays Counselor Troi on TNG. So when I saw her here in a Stargate episode the first time, that was neat.

2021-01-03 23:21:22 +0000 UTCI pretty much feel the same way about this one. It's a bit on the weaker end for S4. It isn't bad and it makes some big moves in the universe with bringing the russians into the mix, and some of the ideas with the living water planet were pretty unique, but it's not the most memorable episode overall and is mostly just alright. A few notes, the wrong point of origin is shown at the start of the episode. We see the upside down V with the little circle over it, but it should be line with dot above that we saw in Solitudes, as the original symbol is on the russian gate. We'll just say the SGC put a little resin mold of the original symbol over the Antarctica gates point of origin so they wouldn't have to change all their SGC patches. O'Neill was really being a dick to Dr. Markov(should actually have been the feminine Markova according to russian surname conventions). I felt bad for how he and Daniel were giving her a hard time. I guess it goes back to his cold war black ops days and not wanting to give anything away. Even when he said he's never been in a submarine before, it's stated as casual conversation, but was a clear and deliberate attempt to make it seem like he had never been involved in the incident in Small Victories. Speaking of the sub, depth & pressure are usually measured by the same instrument with the reading translated differently on separate gauges, so both should have been increasing. Next one is pretty good. Sg1 gets gets a small buff. Nothing big but kinda cool.

2021-01-03 08:05:46 +0000 UTCHaha, this does feel like an x-files episode, including the classic "what the heck just happened" feeling at the end. Very creepy! It also borrows a few elements form another sci-fi classic, Abyss.

2021-01-01 12:47:44 +0000 UTCFun Fact the ending for this episode wasnt the intented ending that's why it ends abruptly.

2021-01-01 12:42:53 +0000 UTCA stand moment for me is Daniel realising that Jack's quippiness has probably rubbed off on him as he makes snide comments about the sub. ๐

2021-01-01 11:53:04 +0000 UTCjack is extra snappy in this episode cause he's not overly fond of Russians. He was pretty active in special ops during the cold war. its been lightly mentioned in passing in previous seasons. just something to keep in mind for future eps.
