2021-07-17 23:43:58 +0000 UTCI just love how the moment Jack heard something against Teal'c basically everything got dropped in his mind.

2020-12-26 16:50:57 +0000 UTCFail is just a human being and he's watching a lot of shows. He catches up if he's late with something, but if you're going to throw a fit every time an episode is late you might as well unsubscribe now and save yourself some trouble. We're trying to create a positive community here, not cause him extra stress.

2020-12-12 07:14:07 +0000 UTCAgain, read the tier descriptions re: expectations and promises, and try showing some humanity - he's an individual, not a faceless corporation. Patreon is not an on-demand service, but a platform to connect content creators with supporters, and Faily provides us access to multiple reaction videos every week, as his page clearly describes.

2020-12-12 06:29:10 +0000 UTCHi Stef.. No Two per week is the expectation as promised previously. If can not deliver I will cancel membership and unsubscribe on YouTube and thumbs down every single Stargate video. Paying for a service that is not being delivered is a joke.

2020-12-11 23:20:51 +0000 UTCRude. Seriously, guy, calm your tits. Check the tier descriptions - no where does it say you are guaranteed any number of reactions to _any_ show, only first access to what Faily releases. Quit complaining that you're not being entertained fast enough... go stream it on Amazon if you're that impatient.

2020-12-11 19:56:45 +0000 UTCWhere is episode 3?

2020-12-11 05:20:09 +0000 UTCYeah, Sam's face really said it all.

2020-12-10 17:49:55 +0000 UTCBy closing the iris Jack actually executed him willingly, in some ways it's a pretty dark turn for him.

2020-12-10 12:12:08 +0000 UTCI feel like O'Neill did that for 2 reasons 1 - He was pissed Alar hid the kind of person he was and pulled the wool over O'Neill's eyes. 2 - He felt he had to atone for shooting down the bomber before.

2020-12-10 09:21:06 +0000 UTCThis was a great episode and reaction. Really looking forward to the rest of season 4, there are some fantastic episodes coming up.
2020-12-10 03:14:26 +0000 UTCI would have preferred it, if they had just left the planet. Instead of actively shooting down the planes.

2020-12-10 00:38:49 +0000 UTCOne of my favs. Love the tension between our protagonists in this one. Jack is a far more complex individual than this following statement. But... It feels a bit like... My world is in danger and I need to protect it. So I'm going to turn a blind eye to this sketchy situation and over look warning signs if it gets us what we need to help protect it. But you diss my man Teal'c and I'm gonna burn your whole world down. That look Carter gives him at the end, one of my fav bits of the whole episode. That stink eye stare could probably cut through naquadah. π€£

2020-12-09 21:34:18 +0000 UTCI do not think they were clones, rather the remark made "they are all the same" is Jack recognizing they are all the same race/ethnicity. They breeded in their own gene pool, to keep the blood pure. Basically, they are Nazi Racists. One aspect I liked about this episode is that for once Earth had something of technological relevance that someone else needed. It was nice to see it from that side of things, instead of us being so inferior, we actually had something of technological use. Anyway, yeah, the episode clearly is to talk on the topic of racism, that's how I saw it when I first saw the episode, and now when watching it again. It's an ep about racism.

2020-12-09 20:22:47 +0000 UTCGreat episode and great reaction! Since we've especially throughout season 3 how much Jack wants to find new tech for earth, it's understandable that he's so eager to ignore the warning signs here. The 'speaking metaphorically' exchange is also has one of my favourite Teal'c jokes.

2020-12-09 19:22:39 +0000 UTCI think Jack was frustrated, because more often than not, they come home empty handed. "Not this time." May have been what he thought. And he got pissed off at Ol' Danny boy for ruining his feeling of accomplishment. At least that's how I rationalize his anger. That stasis room comment about them being all the same had nothing to do with cloning, but the absence of different "races" They were basically all "Aryans".

2020-12-09 18:43:35 +0000 UTCIf they weren't meant to be clones, they did a lousy job portraying that. It's literally the same guy photographed from different angles. Also I could see the nazi's cloning a "perfect aryan" if they had the ability, so it sticks in that regard. What would have been even better than taking Alar would be if Sam had quietly bagged the data core before things started to heat up. No moral dilemma there.
Timothy Nikiforovs
2020-12-09 18:38:28 +0000 UTCYeah, as opposed to the US giving amnesty to the "scientists" who ran Japan's Unit 731 in exchange for whatever they learned from their horrific human experiments, most of which ended up being useless anyway. It's a brutal move to close the iris on someone intentionally, but the guy had it coming.
Timothy Nikiforovs
2020-12-09 18:28:34 +0000 UTC1) Good, solid episode. I didn't get what was going on until the "indiscriminate breeders". That combined with Teal'c treatment, cleared the picture. 2) I don't think they had clones in stasis, just people that are similar Aryan type. 3) While not noble, but I would let that leader come with me. Let their knowledge be used for something good, like protecting Earth. At the end of WW2, USA welcomed a lot of Nazi scientists and it greatly improved science and medicine in US for decades. 4) The leader should have stayed, instead of going though the gate after Jack's warning. Something tells me that the Breeders will show more mercy to their prisoners, then they expect.

2020-12-09 18:25:53 +0000 UTCAhhhh, that's awesome, how did I never make that connection Also, is Faily a trekkie? If not hopefully he reacts to trek at some point, especially ds9
Timothy Nikiforovs
2020-12-09 18:25:22 +0000 UTCI love the ending where the Nazi scientist offers all his knowledge just to save his life, and Jack refuses. Strategically a bad move, but just goes to show how committed Jack became to doing the right thing. As per the theme of the episode.

2020-12-09 16:24:04 +0000 UTCDaniel is usually right, but I don't think he's a good moral compass. Fail jokes about Dark Daniel, but I do think there's something in that. Sam's empathy has been much more reliable IMO.

2020-12-09 13:45:36 +0000 UTCI can't for the life of me remember when exactly the next big boi comes up. You know who I mean. Do we have to wait like a season or 2 still? I can't quite recall as it's been ages since I watched the series.

2020-12-09 12:06:27 +0000 UTCAs a DS9 fan, every time I hear him say "Now is not the time, Major," it throws me through a loop.

2020-12-09 10:54:45 +0000 UTCI think it is a great episode but its personally one that I nearly ALWAYS skip or if I do have it on I never really pay attention to it! But I am SUPER excited for the rest of season 4 as majority of season 4 eps are my favourites! Can"t wait!!!

2020-12-09 07:58:21 +0000 UTCIt's supposed to piss us off though. I think the lesson of the episode and the reason for how Jack handled the situation is to show how people can be manipulated when they're desperate and not see that they're doing something wrong. I mean sure the eurondans are desperate, but so is earth, and that made O'Neill blind to all sorts of red flags.
Timothy Nikiforovs
2020-12-09 05:58:04 +0000 UTCNo, sir, I don't like it. It is a strong episode, but I don't like watching it very often because it pisses me off. Glad to see you get frustrated at Jack's initial handling of the situation too.

2020-12-09 05:51:50 +0000 UTCTo answer your question, This ep aired July 7, 2000. And for shame Odo. I could give you a pass on being a lawman for space nazis, but not leading a bunch of them in their ethnic cleansing crusade. I really do love this episode and it's themes. The Other Side is one of the best examples of how Daniel is the team's moral compass, and the scene where Jack recognizes that and apologizes is great. Also the soundtrack in this episode is kickass. Overall this definitely felt like a learning experience for our heroes. Hopefully they'll look before they leap next time advanced tech is on the line. And can I just say, O'Neill casually closing the iris on Alar is one of the coldest things he's ever done. Don't blame him though. You gotta wonder though, if Teal'c hadn't been there to tip O'Neill off and if Jackson hadn't asked so many questions, how guilty would O'Neill feel if they just kept sending the heavy water through and he finds out later that the deal he struck led to genocide? I'm sure the thought went through his head by the end of the episode. Next episode is tons of fun, and the first SG1 ep I ever saw. Without context I had no clue what was going on but it looked like fun, and I recognized the stargate from the movie. Not long after I was hooked.
