Totally agree, what a captivating performance by the cast. Really well done.

LOL yeah the reason that actor (Brad Dourif) reminds you of the guy from Lord of the Rings is because that's him! He played Grima Wormtongue.

Tron

Fantastic episode, one I have rewatched so many times because of the performances, brilliant!!!

Tazarati

Our first Scully-centric episode! I can't wait for them to get more frequent

I knew you were gonna lose it seeing Don at the start. Also Brad Dourif is excellent here as usual. When Scully asks to speak to her dad and he snaps and says "not without a deal", the way the guy was able to make his face that red on a whim. He's great at playing disturbed/psychopathic characters. The role I first knew him from was Lon Suder on Voyager. It's interesting to see Mulder and Scully's positions flipped somewhat here. Scully will obviously remain the skeptic, but she's starting to at least consider other possibilities now.

Timothy Nikiforovs

I agree. The best episode so far. And the fact that it is Scully centric is even more impressive. Both Brad Dourif and Gillian Anderson were fantastic.

I love pretty much all of Brad Dourif's roles. He's amazing in Deadwood if you've ever seen it or if you ever want a great fairly short HBO show to react to if you haven't seen it, I'd suggest it for some point when you've got the timeslot.

Lady Beyond The Wall

Brad Dourif is a super underrated actor. He's so damn good! Fun fact, he's the voice of Chucky from the Child Play series. Everything he's in, he knocks out of the park.

Trey Moore

This is one of my favourite episodes, and I think a great indication of the kind of episodes we see more of in the future -- that the show isn't just about aliens and government conspiracies, it has a really strong personal and emotional core as well. There's so much good in this episode! Not just the outstanding performances, but we see the 'paranormal' from Scully's POV while Mulder plays the skeptical one, and they both experience it so differently. And Boggs is the same guy who played the advisor in LotR, Wormtongue!

Teth

This is absolutely the best episode so far
