It's not on Netflix

Tomáš Polák

It doesn't work like that. You're paying him for access to all the content he posts, Stargate and more... it's not an "on demand" service.

Stef Furness

Where is the next episode? Paying for two a week

Ken Davidson

Stargate SG1 is now on Netflix. I was surprised that they used the original pilot episode, including the nudity. Apparently certain circles are hoping that Netflix might be willing to get behind a new Stargate series.

James Yancy

I'll take the Replicators over the White Spiders from Mandalorian any day.

Stef Furness

we need the new episode u cant let us hanging faily xD

Regarding the intro: there are different intros depending on when and where the episode was broadcast, and this was one of them. There's no significance to this episode having a different intro, it's just where this particular episode's file happened to come from. Most viewers wouldn't have seen a different intro for this episode (either all one intro or all the other intro).

Ray Nothnagel

The time, when there were still "To be continued" screens on the end of a season. If you would do something like this nowadays, people would probably riot :D Totally forgot that the Replicatiors appeared that early! Also loved that zooming in shot to Teal'c to see just how big the Ashard ship was.

GhostPhil

Shame we didn't get the part two, but I'm hyped for that! It's a great episode, and I think they actually stand decently well on their own merits.

Can't wait for the next one!!

Florian Hoyer

The Fifth Race did place the asgard planet O'Neill visited as being in the Ida galaxy, so we even have a name. Also just realized a few weeks back that I sometimes see you in the chat over on Trekyards' livestreams. If you see "Jarsia" in the chat, that's me

Timothy Nikiforovs

And now, I shall nitpick! "The intro you've been watching was retroactively applied to those seasons by SciFi channel after they got the show. " - This is actually not true! The intro Fail has been seeing up until now was created for the syndicated run of the show. It was also used for the first three seasons on DVD (except for this episode and the pilot) years before it ever went to Sci-Fi. It was also used in some international broadcasts. Here in Norway, for instance, they always used that intro for season 1 (again, except for the pilot) but reverted to the movie/Ra mask intro for seasons 2 through 5.

Ugly Pig

This is my favorite two parter episodes! Can't wait for the next one!

Scarlett Monrow

Always love the iconic 'dun dun dun dun dududuuuh dududuuuh' music that plays every time the Replicators show up, coupled with all their robot noises and metal steps as they scurry all over the place. They're by far my favourite villains in the Stargate universe.

Flufux

Ooh, that's the old intro! It's the one the show aired with for several of the early seasons.

Teth

So now you have been introduced to the Replicators, the enemy of the Asgard. Also note they said they are a scourge in their galaxy, so we confirm again here the Asgard are in another galaxy, we know this already obviously with the 8th chevron being able to dial another galaxy, but just thought I'd mention it, I find it interesting cause if you think about it, there are stargates in their galaxy too if they have one, or at least one, heh. So the replicators eat material, use to replicate, and that's their motive, eat everything, and make more of themselves. You can kinda think of the Replicators as being analogous to the Borg of this series. Different yes, but this is Stargates's "Borg"

Brent Justice

Really? Even in later seasons. I thought it was just S1-5.

Timothy Nikiforovs

Finally. Replicators. Love those things.

As Quentin already pointed out Michael Shanks actually had an appendectomy prior to filming this episode, hence his absence from most of it. Originally they were going to have him off with another SG team or something and there wasn't time to recall him, then they realized they could just write the real world reason into the show. I rather like the decision, as it makes the show feel more grounded that the team members can end up out of commission for the same mundane reasons as the rest of us. As to the intro, it's actually the OLD intro. During the original run of SG1 on Showtime, the Ra head statue(good guess BTW) was the intro for S1-5. The intro you've been watching was retroactively applied to those seasons by SciFi channel after they got the show. Don't know why you're seeing it now. The next intro change(actually 2) will be at the start of S6, and I'll give you a heads up on any spoilers in it before you get there. The intro for the first 2 eps of S6 is just shots of the gate, but after that you'll want to skip the intro for a few eps. Speaking of spoilers, I'm surprised you made it here without anyone spoiling the replicators(had a few close calls there). Also when major Davis tells Hammond that he wishes it weren't always under such unusual circumstances, it's a bit of an in joke that Davis only seems to appear when things are going horribly wrong. A black hole, SG1 captured by Hathor, a foothold situation, and now tech bugs even the Asgard cant squash ready to invade Earth. I like Davis, but the guy is a disaster magnet. This episode is a bit of a landmark for the show for another reason. Starting from this ep, they began filming with 35mm, instead of the old 16mm. There's a definite visual improvement after this point. But yeah, Nemesis was fantastic. It really feels like this was where SG1 came into it's own and really took things to the next level. It expands the universe and lore so much. It does seem like lego bugs wouldn't be that big of a threat, but if they're giving the Asgard trouble, you know they've got to be powerful. Also we did see Teal'c hit one with a full 3 zat blasts to no effect, so that tells us something. And "1 small step for a jaffa" was gold, and also showed how much Teal'c has integrated with Earth culture and even learned Earth history. Really excited for you to start S4. Many fans cite it as one of if not their favourite season. It's just one banger after another with only a few meh and a couple actually bad eps. Especially the first 6-8 are amazing.

Timothy Nikiforovs

The intro of the show is a little different based on what network it was playing on, remember this show started on Showtime, then moved. Plus it gets played in other countries, so depending on the network some got this movie intro, others got the action intro.

Brent Justice

The intro was a snippet of the '94 SG film and it was the only intro i knew watching the entire series for the first time! Didn't know about the action packed intro til a few years after the show ended lol this was the European/UK version. The replicators are deffo my fave SG villain! The noise they make is iconic

Dammit, I was gonna make a joke about Michael Shanks being such a committed actor that he got his appendix removed for this episode. But yeah I like how they just wrote Shanks' real medical issue into the character to explain his absence.

Timothy Nikiforovs

Fun fact Mickael Shanks really had an appendicitis attack during this episode, this is why Daniel is not with the team and always sitten in the control room
