Forgot to mention, this episode was actually the last to air in the 90s.

Indeed
2020-11-08 20:24:44 +0000 UTCI'm guessing because the one impersonating him was still alive and as such he didn't wake up. Taking off his headpiece would set off the alarm.

2020-11-01 01:24:03 +0000 UTCAlways liked Davis, but the guy only ever shows up when stuff is going horribly wrong

2020-10-31 20:02:30 +0000 UTCThey are not Asgard enemies. I won't spoil you, but there was a hidden clue : when they dialed to go back to their planet at the end of the episode, they used 7 chevrons while the Asgards are living in another galaxy and their enemies would have to use 8 chevrons to go to the Ida galaxy (Asgard's galaxy). PS: Asgard's enemies are way worse than these aliens, believe me!

2020-10-31 18:51:58 +0000 UTCVery fun episode. I really like Davis as supporting character. Just imagine how much procedure they have every time they use Stargate. An MRI to rule out snakes in the head, a blood test is rule out nanites, handprint and a scanner device for invisible terrorists and now sound "check" of all arrivals.

2020-10-31 16:51:57 +0000 UTCSpeaking strictly for myself, of course, all of the episodes that make up the rest of season 3 are great, with a few that are a cut above even that. Personal preference will always differ among fans (thankfully, or we'd have very little to discuss and argue about) but I believe it was during this season that SG-1 really found it's feet and started kicking things into gear.

2020-10-30 18:27:09 +0000 UTCFull disclosure, I never really liked this episode much. It's not actively bad like say Emancipation or One False Step, it's just that is seems so useless in the overall scheme of the show. It's fine to have one off aliens, but at least have something interesting about them or have some point to using them. Sure the mimic devices are cool and the memory reader to infiltrate is smart, but beyond their methods they're just generic bad guy aliens. The action in the episode is great and the tension is good, but they're just there as an obstacle for the team to overcome.....because action. Better uses of one off aliens are eps like Message in a Bottle or Spirits, where there's actually some message or takeaway for the ep and they actually served a purpose. Even the reetou at least had the background of being driven to extreme measures by the goa'uld and tied into the larger canon that way. These guys just felt completely separate and forgettable. Still, it was great to see Carter get to be the hero beyond just being the big brain person on the team(also loved her "you are an idiot every day of the week, why couldn't you just take one day off" burn). And I gotta say I feel like Michael Shanks did a good job matching her mannerisms when she was disguised as Daniel. What I do like in this episode though is that we're starting to see Maybourne turn around a bit as a character. In eps like Bane and Touchstone it was easy to think of him as "generic NID bad guy", but this episode is the first real sign that he might not be a total POS and can be redeemed. Next episode though is excellent.

2020-10-30 18:25:52 +0000 UTCReally enjoyed this reaction. And when you said about guessing who you were going for halloween my instant reply was 'indeed'. I love these kinds of mimic aliens as a concept and SG-1 did an amazing job at using it for this story. And the actors really sold the 'maybe, probably not but maybe' portion when they met up with Sam and Sparky and made even us as viewers doubt what was going on. What I find interesting is that the aliens themselves don't appear to have any weapons other than their suicide bombing, which falls in line with their preferred method of attack being infiltration. Most likely the writers did this to not have to design some new weaponry but it fits with an in universe explanation. Anyway, looking forward to the next one.

2020-10-30 17:48:36 +0000 UTCThis is the first time I noticed the team kinda forgot about real Daniel

2020-10-30 05:32:55 +0000 UTCThis is a great episode. Just in the fact that the sgc is done in right from the start. Also I can't wait until we get to the real enemy of the asgard. Gonna be amazing.

2020-10-30 00:40:55 +0000 UTCI believe there was some official source that called the aliens in this episode the 'Stragoth'...and though it was a good guess that they were the Asgard's enemy, remember that Thor said their enemy was worse than the Goa'uld, and these guys went down rather easily once you got through their disguises.

2020-10-29 19:03:48 +0000 UTCI love this episode. The story itself is great but it's especially nice to see the earth-side recurring characters fleshed out a bit more, and having Teal'c and Sam team up in the beginning. They have great chemistry.
