So... Sozin's Comet comes along once every 100 years and magnifies the Fire Benders powers far above their normal abilities. Every Fire Bender gets a massive boost in power, and as strong as the Avatar is he can't fight all of them. He's basically going to have to rush through his training, and then confront the leadership of the Fire Nation to prevent them from taking advantage of the time window when the comet will be available to them. That's basically what we learned in this episode, in a nutshell.

2020-10-17 11:12:14 +0000 UTCGreat episode. Now that they've had some time to establish the world and Aang has a clear time limit on the objective, there'll be less dawdling about. The part where Roku takes over Aang is epic!

2020-10-17 06:19:15 +0000 UTCI rarely rewatch the first half of season 1 but man that stuff with Roku was tight. And it's nice seeing good guy Firebenders, namely Roku and that one sage, so it's not like fire=bad. I'm a sucker for world-building too, and this show is one of the best.
