One thing I absolutely love is how they use the "it was all just a dream" trope. To steal and parphrase from Dumbledore, just because it's all in your head does not mean it is not real. The other thing I love about the story is it shows both the strength of will Sha're had and her love for Daniel. Using the last bit's of her strength not only to pass along a vital message but help him through the grieving process. If we were granted a dying wish I think a lot of us would wish we could do the same for those we loved.
2020-10-16 02:47:14 +0000 UTCThis is a Daniel episode so I just wanted to know, is anyone else excited for him to get to "absolute power" it's one ofy very favorite episodes and daniel is just so great in it, I have no doubt he'll enjoy the hell out of it

2020-10-16 01:18:13 +0000 UTCWhen you said this episode is major, you really have no idea how correct you were. Kicking off the search for the Harsesis and Keb are going to have massive implications going forward for the entire franchise, and not necessarily in the way you might think. It will not only play a major role in Daniel's personal evolution, but for the entire franchise universe moving forward. I won't give spoilers, but yeah, major stuff coming down the line.

2020-10-15 15:34:35 +0000 UTCMan, you're not going to do well. Freakin love this episode, great acting chops from everyone. Love seeing the pain in Teal'c for his role in his friend's pain.

2020-10-15 07:19:57 +0000 UTCYep, you pretty much got it, the episode is really all in his mind because Sha're was breaking through Amaunet's control and sending Daniel the message about needing to find the boy through the hand device, all in the matter of seconds real-time, and she new he'd need to forgive Teal'c so that he will remain with the SGC and look for the boy. And now we know the boy is a Harsesis, because of the genetic memory Goa'uld have, that means all the knowledge of the Goa'uld are possessed by him. So he is hidden in a place called Kheb. Lots of lore here. Love it.

2020-10-15 05:30:27 +0000 UTCThe opening for this episode is definitely an epic fight. Probably the biggest on the show(so far anyway). Only real competition I can think of was the end of the pilot. Definitely seeing a bigger budget at play now. Gotta say though, how damn long does it take Daniel to reload his pistol? Seems like half the battle went down while he fumbled to grab a new mag. I feel like ultimately Sha're had to die for Daniel to move forward as a character. I mean they basically had 2 options; let Daniel find and rescue her in which case really he's gonna go live his life with her(he only joined SG1 to find her), or keep stringing it along forever till it gets old, which it kind of was already. The storyline needed to be resolved so Daniel's journey could continue and he could find a new purpose, and a happy ending wouldn't have led to that. Now he can move past being "the guy looking for his wife" on the team. Gotta say though, the bit that gets me in the feels was O'Neill saying goodbye. He starts off with this very professional "been nice working with ya" handshake, then realizes that just doesn't cut it for someone he's been through so much with. Interesting to note that Daniel went through this whole dilemma of holding a grudge vs forgiving Teal'c in a matter of seconds, and immediately tells Teal'c he did the right thing. Daniel had to work through his anger over Teal'c killing his wife, obviously compounded by the fact Teal'c is the reason she became a host to begin with, completely inside his own head. Teal'c wouldn't even know that in Daniel's mind he wanted nothing to do with him again for a while. Can't wait for the rest of this season. There's 3-4 eps left this season that are just ok, but the rest are all pretty awesome.

2020-10-15 01:49:49 +0000 UTCor even shoot her arm or something. I think part of it was she was about to turn the ribbon device on him as well, and if she blasted him back and injured or killed him, there would be nobody to stop her from killing Daniel

2020-10-15 00:37:34 +0000 UTCMy only problem with this ep is that i think tealc couldve just tackled her instead, cause he was quite close to her ):
