2020-10-01 06:01:00 +0000 UTCI don't really like that theory about Angel going to this alternate universe idea. He was tortured in a hell dimension, they said it several times, even he did, and also the point that time passed differently where he was, for him it was like a hundred years there.

2020-10-01 05:40:58 +0000 UTCThis is one of my favorite episodes of the entire series. I'm so glad you got a kick out of it. It does produce a lot of interesting thoughts, too. It made sense that Faith wasn't there, because if Buffy never came to Sunnydale, that means she never died. If she didn't die, Kendra would never have been called, and if Kendra didn't die or get activated as a Slayer, then Faith would not have been activated and never have showed up. At the same time, though, when you thought Buffy was Faith, I realized after I thought about it that that could have theoretically made sense. Not that she came as a slayer, but just as a girl who learned there were vampires some other way, and came to Sunnydale to have a good old time killing them. It totally would have made sense for Faith to become a white hat, like Giles and Larry and Oz, but, you know, like, a lone white hat who does it for her own personal reasons. It also made sense that Spike and Dru weren't in this. Spike came to Sunnydale, partly to kill the Slayer. If she never came, he might not have come, or brought Dru with him. He also came so that the hellmouth could heal Dru, but he might have tried to find another way, especially if he didn't learn about the Cross of Dulac, the cross he used to heal her in What's My Line. I also couldn't help thinking of Jenny. If Buffy never came to Sunnydale, there would have been no concern about Angel losing his soul, which means Jenny wouldn't have been sent to watch them and make sure they never got together. Angel would never have lost his soul, and Jenny would not have died. So, she probably still existed somewhere, but she wouldn't be there, or ever have been with Giles. It's kind of sad. Oh, and over the years, I've heard an interesting theory about this episode when it comes to Angel. I've heard people toss around the idea that the Wishverse is the hell Angel was in while he was being tortured in an alternate dimension. THIS is where he was, being tortured by an evil Willow, where the Master lets it happen and is about to take over the world, where Angel is aware of Buffy and in love with her from when he watched her in LA, but never having been with her, I don't have the brainpower to work all the logic out and figure out if it's a perfect theory, but it's an interesting thought. Great reaction. Looking forward to more.

Also it's cool timing that we get this episode right after an alternate universe ep of SG1. I wonder though what the consequence would be if Cordy had survived and been the one to undo the damage done by her wish, and she still remembered?

When Xander and Willow first enter the Bronze, at the front door, we pass by a vamp biting someone, it looked like Faith to me. But I guess it could just be a random person. But the face, the body build, it really looks like Faith slumping over getting bit, would have to zoom in and do a screen capture.

2020-09-30 20:52:56 +0000 UTCIt could not have been Faith in the alternate timeline, (when you said that when Buffy came in) cause Buffy didn't die in this alternate timeline calling her activation. Plus, we see Faith early in the episode being bitten by a vampire as we enter the Bronze scene, so she's dead as of this episode, in the alternate universe.
